I'll wait for bright daylight.
And my fan light.
Reddit was edited again, he saids that help is coming thing was a troll.
YEP I'M NOT SLEEPING TONIGHT
that fucking staircase thing what the fuck why
If this is a troll, it's an incredibly well done one.
Imagine that thing with no arms from the first vid stumbling towards you and starring over you at night with the face from the second
Meh..Videos are creepy but i can't tell why everyone is shitting themse-
OH FUCK OH FUCK OH FUCK OH FUCK
I do agree with some people, though, this doesn't really feel like Valve's "style". Still, I'm very interested to see what this leads up to, Valve or not.
Assuming that this is Valve's work, I'm guessing that they are going to make a horror game.
What if this ARG is for Nightmare House 3, and they've been keeping it on the down-low until now?
If anything it's for Cry of Fear, which has already been posted. All the "scary stuff" matches the content in a lot of ways.
Ok well, I read some of the Reddit post and the guy "foundonthetape" posted this:
Someone said that it was Base64 for:
"Help is coming Gordon you are not alone."
So I just tried it myself and it gave me the same thing. This has some relation to Half-Life. I'm not sure what it is, though.
My second assumption, and this one is pretty far out there, that this might have something to do with Adrian Shephard.
a SPUF moderator confirmed it for fake.
Also, I don't think the moderators of SPUF are really tied in with Valve.
Unless it was an actual Valve employee that said it wasn't, then we can assume that it's not Valve related.
I doubt a volunteer mod is actually directly affiliated with Valve aside from the Steam Forums
still I have a feeling it's more of an ARG for an upcoming mod
Isn't there a guy that works with valve that can confirm this on this forum?
You're all too optimistic.
If this was from Valve, they would do it via a game update. It's a random youtube video, how did you even come to believe it?
If this is Valve related, they will keep their mouths shut. And if they do keep their mouths shut, then we know it's from them.
There's this thing called Source SDK and Hammer. Anyone could have made this map. If it was really Valve it would have been found in the TF2 gcf or something.
Seriously. All I am thinking right now is "please, please, please, please, please let it be"
wait, if it actually is Valve, and not E3 but a different horror game then we're all fucked
what does "ARG" stand for?
Leveraged/Kolya finished his website project thing a few days ago, possibly related to that.
Lookin like bullshit, but nonetheless...
QR code, anyone?
It would've been interesting if they'd combined the normal tile texture and this variant with missing tiles to ''draw'' a QR code on the floor of the map, though.
EDIT: then again, the pattern seems to be different here from the actual texture. Let me load up Hammer and check, maybe I'm just going crazy from the screamer.
EDIT2: Compare the map to this screencap I took in Hammer. It's not a QR code, it's just how the texture is.
Some folks from the /v/ thread checked. They said it's not a QR, but rather a stock texture from EP2
Very well done and put together, but definitely not Valve.
I'm sure the SPUF moderator wouldn't have squashed the rumor if it was actually real, because less people would play.
Either way this is a very, very well done ARG. And you know, this could be for Black Mesa Source: especially since the poster's one code hinted to Gordon.
I'm not sure this is an actual Valve ARG, but why would volunteer moderators on SPUF know anything about this being official? It's not like they're Valve employees.
