    How so? Do you mean try to open it from console after loading flatgrass or construct?

    I already tried that, it would tell me that the file was missing, but I know it was in the map folders. I tried this method in both Gmod and Ep2.

    It should be in your addons folder, not the maps folder. This will not function correctly in the maps folder.

    Run Gmod. Console -> Map gm_flatgrass. When the map loads, Console -> map gm_ghosthunt2

    The monitor problem is a pain in the ass and if you read the old thread you'l see that I tried for weeks to get the fucking thing to work properly. It's something to do with Gmod's LUA or something. I'm not entirely sure but any map with a monitor in it will not load properly unless its done from another map.

    If all else fails run this map in Episode 2.

    I can't even get past the metal door.

    I pulled the switch. It opened and I saw the red glow. I nope'd and stepped back only for the lights to go out.

    Great job on the map!

    Hai, I have a server all ready for this map.

    I created it with a gamemode for myself and my friends to play. Accidently I left it unlocked and it got afew joiners. Since then its been down but if people are willing then I'll put it back up. (It has a lantern)

    EU server US people shouldn't lag too much though. Please download the map and content before you join as it doesn't have fast download.

    Might be afew bugs in the GM but it works 100%

    Server Down, hosting company are having issues with the EU service.

    You only need to do the activation once and it prevents pirates to download the map.
    so i suggest to stop being lazy and just do the process

    That'd be cool if it actually sent the damn email. Its been about seven hours since I requested a new one and its not in my spam of my original account or in the inbox of where my emails get forwarded.

    You can't download anything off of Gmod.org without verifying that you have Gmod on your steam account
    therefore pirates who use the pirated Gmod can't download addons. That's why sometimes you see people asking for mirrors or for people to upload the file somewhere so they can download it, either they've been banned for being a fucknut on gmod.org or they don't have the game at all

    Anyway, if Bread, if you make another gm_ghosthunt map, put more stuff in like things appearing in the screens and stuff like that. And just just floating dark bodies make it look like whisps and stuff.

    Well, this is my first post. So hi!
    I also am not sure about the bumping protocol here is, so my apologies if I'm doing something wrong.

    Me and some friends played through this map the other, it was awesome!

    so is the asylum thing going to be a mod? if so is it going to be on moddb? i like to have a good idea of when things are coming out. ghost hunt 1 & 2 scared the crap out of me cant wait to see IT GET ITS OWN MOD :D. keep up the good work ;D

    I know it wont be the "same expierience" as ghost hunt but new stuff keeps it fresh so still cant wait (i checkd out the site in the code)

    I finally got around to playing GH2 and my thoughts now are that I hope GH3 will be better designed than GH2.
    There were just so many things that should have been done differently.

    1. The place was really cramped and hard to get around in. If we got separated it was very hard to find others, until we had died so many times (ickys) we pretty much knew the floorplan by heart. There should be a "central" place which is open and close to most of the places, like the big room in GH1.

    2. The ground-icky was scary the first time, maybe the second too, but the countless times it was encountered after that were simply annoying. And I mean really annoying.

    3. Aside from the "demon" and ground-icky I don't think we saw other ghosts much. Are the appearances more scarce than before? It felt like there was just a handful of them total.

    4. Map is too dark. Darker does not equal scarier. Lighting needs to be delicate and create an atmosphere. Ideally there should be a minimal need for player's light sources, just because they're so inconvenient to use. Flashlight is not seen by others and it hardly looks good. Prop flares and the light tool are so much hassle to use that it's distracting. So mood lighting rather than pitch blackness.

    5. The mine didn't work as a setting in my opinion. The mapping on the rock walls honestly wasn't very good. I guess it might be possible to make a properly scary mine level, but I can't quite put my finger on what seemed off about this. For psychological horror it helps to use an environment the player has some kind of attachment to. Blocky rocky walls aren't as easy to immerse into as a house for example.

    6. What is the map intended for? Adventuring? Put in a goal and a conclusion of some kind. General sandboxing? Have the layout be nonlinear enough and have enough lights and visibility. A well lit area can be scary too, you just have to make it appeal to subconscious fears.

    7. The game froze for several seconds every time there was a bigger event for the first time. Luckily it was just seconds, not tens of seconds like in GH1.

    8. The ghosts are badly in need of animations and activities. Things that appear in reference pose and idle for a few seconds are hardly even intimidating. It worked in GH1 though, with the skeleton. I guess it was more subtle than the demon.

    9. Have them do things. Tell a story. Just what are they? Why are they? "Some do not even realize they're dead" was a very interesting thought. It'd be great to see them trying to accomplish tasks, like a ghost giving the players a vision of its final moment, or maybe trying to approach the players as a human, thinking they're here to help it out not realizing its new form is not entirely appreciated.

    10. The instructions were so full of grammar and spelling errors that we ended up discussing linguistics instead of ghosts.

    11. We were expecting to get attacked in the bathroom stalls and showers. Disappointed.

    1. i agree, did need a main area.
    2. as annoying as the stalker which pops out and screams a lot on GH1?
    3. i did see a few ghosts, not as many as on GH1 though but there are a few...
    4. i agree and disagree, darkness for me does make it more scarier, especially if it's singleplayer, but yes there should be a bit more lighting in some places on the map say lanterns or torches on the floor maybe?
    5. agree as well.
    6. there was a goal (sort of) which was to find those skulls, then place them at the pillars, which lead to a few more scares and a little corridor which lead to the revealation of hartley asylum.
    7. i had the same problem untill i got a new graphics card.
    8. agree, but sometimes they can get a little scary if running down the corridor part towards the ouiji board entrance then they spawn right in your face.
    9. agree.
    10. not sure, didnt read the instructions carefully.
    11. then again, if you expected it maybe it wouldn't scare you as much?

    You could limit prop spawns to 0, I guess. sbox_maxprops 0, I think. As for noclip, disable it with sbox_noclip 0 IIRC.
