I hate the old 2.4x interface.
It is ugly. The new one is awesome but I don't need it because use hotkeys.

I really love the spacebar and then type what ever you need. But I can't stand everything else. I need the old UI back D:

Personally I'd recommend sticking with the 2.5x interface and getting familiar with it. I didn't like it at first, either, but after using it for a while I found it to be a hell of a lot better than the old one. This might help with the transition.

Are all those bricks the same texture or is it a lighting bug because it seems that they well, have all the same texture or not a texture at all(like a simple red color)

The same type of assignment as Jeggis, and what I've been streaming these three weeks.
The camera is way too floaty and there are too many pans. Just because the 3d camera gives you endless possibilities doesn't mean you should use it all the time. You should think what would a camera drive or a pan bring more that a normal still shot or minute movement couldn't. If you can't think of anything, don't use them.

    Edited:

I'm working on a PzIV, any suggestions? (low experience alarm)
That's a block-out right? Because you should do the final model with polygon/plane modeling.

I really like that. I know the buildings and the cars are models made by you, but are the background buildings also done by you / are part of the rendered scene?

If I understand this correctly, to make it out of one solid block and start adding vertices?
If so, somehow my vertices will get messed up when I insert them.

No, what he is asking is if that is the block out model, which is basically creating a guide to get all the proportions right.

He is recommending you do plane modeling if this is not the case, which is the process of starting off with a single plane and pretty much dragging more out from that origin to make the model.

Don't do it by creating vertexes, start from a plane, move the vertexes to where you want them, select the edge and extrude it and move it's vertexes. Repeat. Or from a box but you need an open edge to extract edges so a plane is a good starting point.

I guess I will have to postpone my PzIV for awhile and get used to this method with simpler objects.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but if you used a two-sided material or something similar and then a translucensy map shouldn't it be inverted so the veins are blocking more light than the thinner parts? It looks good, but it looks like the veins are letting more light through.

It's nice because it opens a secondary instance of max on my workstation so that I can still work on the model why having it rendering.

Digital Tutors automotive for 3ds max where they model a mustang is great, atleast I thought it was. Not free, but totally worth it. Pretty much taught me to model from zero.
