Looks like some homebrew is being run on Vita.

These homebrews are run using the HBL exploit through the psp emulator on the vita. It's not custom firmware, but still neat to see.

Im getting my tax return back next week which i will promptly use to pre-order one of these beautiful little machines. Cannot wait. I just wish Gravity Rush was a launch title because as of now there isn't a great launch title for me. Uncharted will probably be pretty good but it just doesn't strike me as the kind of game that i want to take around and play. If i wanted to play Uncharted i would like to be in front of a nice big tv to get that amazing cinematic quality .

You can run custom firmware on any PSP model running any official firmware version at this point. When the PS3 was hacked the PSP signing keys were leaked as well and unlike on the PS3, Sony wasn't able to fix it.

It isn't permanent custom firmware so you have to boot into it each time you start the system up but I like that, less risk of bricking and you can keep both CFW and OFW on the same system.

    Edited:

Looking at their site, seems the Pro-CFW guys have an official firmware check bypass for the Vita already.

I think this thing is going to be fully hacked soon

it's not like OFW has any advantage anyway.

Looking at that video of the launch games actually has me interested in a Vita now.
It'll definitely be a sell if they get custom firmware.

I remember in my senior year of high school, I put 70 hours into Pokemon Crystal on my psp. All I ever used it for was emulators.
    No regrets.

Still not sure if the MGS HD collection is coming to the states for the Vita, last I heard it was only confirmed for Japan, but it seems likely.

Went by Taco Bell today just to get the box, unfortunately the code wasn't a winner. And apparently my android phone isn't compatible with their app, so I can't play the game to win one either. ffff

For that price? No thanks. I'd rather save up and buy a better phone early next year when my contract ends. I don't see the need to be logging around a PSP anymore.

The feature seems pointless anyway, for us and Sony. We have to pay for it again (lowest being $6.), it probably works on a limited number of games since there appears to be no valid way of confirming old PSP.

here's a guy using a sledgehammer instead of a microwave

kinda impressive how the vita took two direct blows from a sledgehammer before the 3rd one bursted it into treats.

All of my Vita accessories and games are shipping now.
16gb Memory Card, Uncharted Golden Abyss and Modnation Racers Road Trip. Should be here by the 13th.

Too bad I'll just get to stare at them for a good week until my Wi-Fi Vita gets in.

EDIT: I'm in the process of making a Launch Thread for Vita with all the information I know.

    EDIT:

    Sony Vita Launch Video

    EDIT:

I made a new thread in anticipation of the launch.
