Is anyone really more interested in the 3G version than the Wifi only version? For $250 I think that is some pretty nice pricing.

Except your logic is wrong. Many of the major european countries have 8+ pound/euro minimum wages.
Hey I don't care. I tried being nice, and I tried learning about other countries. But since you guys want to rip on me fuck it. Keep your fucking $490 price tag.

Sorry our minimum wage is 10.25, my mistake. That means about 29 hours of work for a PSV.
Then 5.93 in the UK means about 50 hours...holy shit.

Now that we've cleared this up I feel very bad for UK. I mean seriously. That is almost twice as much work for the same thing..And they can't say it's shipping costs because technically speaking, it all comes from China or some shit.

    Edited:

So by my calculations, it SHOULD roughly cost you guys 173.
When I said this, what I mean by it is that, that should be what they expect you to pay instead of 299 pounds. Who's the dumb ass now?

For all those people bitching about it costing more in the UK. If you want we can trade minimum wages and you can have your PSV for less. I'll take 6 pounds an hour over 4.40 any day.

Implying the ONLY wage is minimum wage. Anyone that gets paid equal to at least the minimum wage in the UK (when converted) will have to pay an extreme amount less.

EDIT: Also, EastBayWilly, nobody holds anything personal, it's just that you are confused about the concept of an exchange rate - let me explain it. A pound, the currency in the UK is worth more than a dollar, but me, in the UK, have to effectively pay more than anyone in the US, since a pound is harder to obtain than a dollar.

Because i like the specs of it, and there might be some good games on it. And maybe homebrew if it gets hacked.

PSP is okay but games suck.
    PSPGo Sucks all together.
DS is okay, but also limited by lack of games.

PSV Looks pretty good, very powerful. Games are a hit or miss.
3DS is an okay idea, can't say I like the 3D, but there are NO games. At all.

Right now I'm more inclined on getting a PSV than a 3DS. I already have a DSi and PSP-3, but the PSV seems like it upgrades enough to warrant me adding it to my collection, where as the 3DS adds 3D. That's it. I can live without 3D.
Plus 3D images are likely to give you headaches and nausea... i know been playing Black ops zombies in 3D it kicks ass but man the headaches hurt but its worth it!

In all seriousness, I think people should move on from that whole debacle. The fact that the PSVita is starting so cheap is proof that Sony are focused on gaining back their consumers trust. I mean, $250 US for all that hardware, probably barely breaking even.

They said they aren't gonna make a profit from it for 3 years (or something) much like they didn't with the PS3.

The whole exchange rate thing happens with everything, though. It sucks anyway. I'm saving up for a Canon t3i and it's $890 if I order it from the us but it's 890 euros here in sweden. Wait no the swedish krona is more expensive than the euro so in sweden it's about 920 euros. Which is 1.337 dollars. I'm not making this up I actually got 1.337,209 from the converter.

I'm going to buy the WiFi version. I'm not willing to pay $250 and at least $15 per month for a handheld.

    Edited:

I'm not going to buy it at launch either. I'll wait a few months and see if they announce plans for an improved model at E3 2012 or a lot of rumors of a new model coming out.

I think the lowest possible price of 250 is to compete with the 3DS, but it better have more games than just the ones shown or announced at E3, because honestly it would suffer the same fate as the PSP, not having a strong library.

    AT&T sucks ass

been waiting for AT&T service in my area for around 7 years, still nothing and my dad works for AT&T

    we're still using ComCast
It's funny, because when they announced the AT&T service, everybody growned.

The UK is getting fucked pretty hard with pricing.

    $249USD for the wifi model
229 for the wifi model. sucks dick

    Edited:

For that reason alone, unless it really impresses me at launch, I'm not buying

Goddamn it. The Vita has the hardware while the 3DS has the games.

The only option is to not buy either for a year or so, I guess. I'm pissed that, while I really want the Vita, a new Smash Bros was announced for the 3DS. My favorite game series of all time.

I had not heard of the PS Vita until i saw this thread, (I didn't watch too much of E3) so when i saw the thread name. I thought the OP horribly misspelled "PC Vista."
(I thought vista cause of the word 'Vita' and because of Vista, it made me think of a PC.)

Actually, now that i think about it... Playstation Vista doesn't sound that bad.
