At long last, we have reached the end of this season's Countdown to Futurama. Today's installment is really great too, because director Edmund Fong has written an introduction, so you don't have to suffer through my bologna this time. Take it away, Edmund!
When finding inspiration and reference for a project, nothing can substitute experience. That's not always easy working on a show that takes place over 1000 years in the future and in the case of the episode "Neutopia", on an alien, terrestrial planet. So, instead of jetting out to Mars, I drove to the California desert to photograph a miniaturized version of the Futurama gang amongst the giant rocks in Joshua Tree National Park. The experience of hiking in this otherworldly environment gave a tangible sense of scale and composition that was more informative than any internet search. During production, the photographs provided continuous influence for the artists at Rough Draft Studios and we hope this came through in the final result.

Well. This is it. The last regular update. Tomorrow is the release, more specifically in 1 day 5 hours and 19 minutes. We've seen a bunch of stuff, and more stuff (and hopefully sense) is coming with the new season. But when it comes to the regular updates, this is the end of this years

Damn. I don't know how long I'm going to have to wait before the episodes are uploaded somewhere I can watch them. Hopefully won't be more than a day after they air.

They were pretty good. Nothing incredible but just good.

IMO you didn't miss much. The first episode had its moments, but was mostly unfunny gender stereotype jokes. I thought the second one was great though. Felt like classic Futurama.

Have you seen most Futurama? Every time they show a computer GUI its always Mac styled, usually Pre-iMac. They like Macs.
Also funny how Scruffy kept his 'stash after being reverse rendered.

Both were great, but Benderama was just a little bit better.

Neutopia was pretty disappointing. It felt out of character for many... characters to be so sexist and the moral was as subtle as a drunk elephant.
Benderama was pretty good though. Nothing special, but pretty good.

Not bad, but it got beat by the NBA Draft, Suits, Burn Notice, and Wilfred.

Is it just me or did Neutopia seem a tad.. messy? I still enjoyed it, but it kind of felt like it was all over the place.
