I have bad asthma and cannot breathe out of my nose since childhood. I've had tremendous problems running since childhood. I literally run out of breath and start breathing like an elephant 8 seconds into running if I run. I tried to push hard once and ended up in the emergency room. I really really want to lose weight but I need to find another way for this.

Sorry to hear that man. Walking will help you lose weight, but you will need to do A LOT of it to see anything significant. The intensity of walking does not really raise your heartbeat that much. But you do burn way more calories walking than sitting down (obvs).

A good way to lose weight if you suffer from asthma is to just drop your calories ,now this does not mean starve yourself, but eat a little bit less than you do now, and eat healthier (no soda, more vegetables, etc.)

So to sum up, walking will make you lose weight since it burns calories, but it will not be as much as intense cardio, so if you walk a few kilometers everyday it will help you on your weight loss. Don`t forget the eating healthy part.

    Good luck

Eat less and start doing strength training. Strength training does not require as much air so it should be less of a problem.

You might want to be a bit more specific with that, as some strength training, while adding muscle, makes you look "larger".

When I first started navy situps, I started to look bigger until my cardio took over and melted the fat, exposing the muscle.

10 pullups just before bed everynight. Try your best no matter what it takes. Never say no. 15 pushups right after pullups. Stick with simple salads and seasoned fruits. A little protein is alright every so often. Do quick burst curl ups until your body won't let you anymore. If the 10 pullups becomes easy, you're making progress, increase your number of pullups accordingly. Set goals and don't just quit, don't let that piece of shit body hold you back. Make the best with what you've been given, it has incredible potential.

So yeah before bed every night
    10 pullups
    15 pushups
Curlups until you can't move (Feel that burn, bitch)
Move the numbers up each time it starts to get easy.
Stick to simple salads (Enjoy your ranch, it's the most tasty thing you're gonna get)
Seasoned fruits. Apple butter mother fucker. Dip that shit. Salted hard boiled eggs for protein shit yes. If it doesn't sound too appetizing that's probably because it's not a big mac. This is normal.

As you grow stronger, your cardio exercises will naturally get easier. Just take it slow. As long as you're in some sort of motion you're doing just fine, but make sure you don't quit until you can't do it anymore (body gives out)
Don't forget starches but for fucks sake don't overdo them either, they'll make you worse off.

Salads can be good. I eat spinach all the time by itself. Would recommend.

Also, you have to walk about 6 miles prob 5 days a week to see much progress, honestly, and that will take a lot of time. I recommend you get out and walk and be active as much as possible but I think your best best for getting skinny, given your condition, is your diet.

What does lifting do to you? Have you tried?

That's like, your opinion man. Salads can be good.

I guess your diet of bacon, bacon, and pretty much more bacon hold the coconut shavings doesn't allow salads

And it's called a routine, it's easy. Better than randomly flailing around in an attempt to lose calories.

Just for reference, I've never had bacon EVER in my life.

And just because I don't like your miserable crash diet doesn't mean I don't eat healthy.

it's all in the kitchen baby, you don't have to walk to lose weight but it helps ofc.

    Edited:

also take it slow otherwise you are never going to do this

    Edited:

because if you are like hmm I an eat a bit less today that's wrong do not do it!

    Edited:

it will kill all motivation i promise you

    Edited:

just stick to a plan and keep notes measure your weight casually and that will keep you motivated

    Edited:

    true story bro

    Edited:

I've actually started so much shit like in a hurry and all that and what i realized, is that it's impossible to achieve a long term goal with short term motivation if you know what I mean, stuff like I said above like measuring notes and photo and stuff will make you long term motivated and you will have no problem with.

    Edited:

losing weight is actually easy you just have to take it slow

I wouldn't necessarily eat less. In fact, I would eat more frequently throughout the day. Just eat the right foods. If you eat very little your body thinks it's starving so it stores fat more

That comment and your avatar suggest to me that eating healthy is not exactly your thing

PRE-DINNER MAJO! IT'S GOOD FOR YOU!

In all seriousness, I've had the same experience as you when I was younger OP, running out of breath and the feeling of collapsing when overextending myself, but it all left me over the years as I grew up. Still have asthma, but I feel much better compared to a few years ago.

Most of the tips has already been said, but if you don't like salads without dressing/feta cheese, try spice it up with a bit of salt and pepper and add something a bit spicy like chilli.

Eating things that are a bit spicey/hot raises the burning process in your body and will give you a better flow of your the digestion system. Remember to always get fresh air and refrain from staying in places with tight air for too long.

You should also refrain yourself from using the asthma medicine too much and become dependant on it as most inhalors contain medicine that will weaken your immune system.

I wish you the best of luck OP and don't be discouraged, things will become better if you believe in it

I skipped a few doses and almost ended up in the hospital again. My family doctor warned me to be careful of skipping doses. I'm taking the strongest dose of Advair atm.

Okay since all of you are saying it's all in the kitchen I might need serious tips to that.
You see, my mom is asian and is at work all day, so she sometimes just leaves home stuff like pork chops and stuff, I mainly eat rice with meaty sidedishes every day. Usually I'm left at home alone with nothing to eat. How should I go on about getting simple tasty healthy dishes?

Are salads my only choice? It doesn't taste too good and if I eat salad-I will probably get hungry again in an hour.

Yes! A fellow Asian brother! :buddy:

Alright, first off, ask your mom to use as little oil/butter as possible in her dishes as a good amount of fat comes from that when you eat.

Try stop eating so much red meat, focus on eating more white meat such as chicken, turkey etc. as it gives just as much energy as red meat, but also a lot of proteins which are more easily to be digested than red meat which contains more fat.

Fish is also really important as it contains a lot of important acids for your body to function and grow healthy and it is a good substitute for red meat as well, with loads of energy and not much of that excess fat you usually get from eating a lot of pork chops and such.

Try eating a lot of vegetables that contains a good amount of fiber, like bamboo and spinach (love how my mom just whips up a simple spinach dish with a bit oil and a bit smashed/chopped up pieces of garlic).
If you're not that fan of vegetables try eat some yoghurt as it contains a lot of bacteria that helps your digestive system just like vegetables with a lot of fiber.

Never skip any meals, EVER! Try eat more for breakfast and eat less at dinner time. I recommend eating some fruit in between meals as it's both healthy and very good for increasing your appetite when you don't feel like eating.

I have more that I wish I could add, but it's really late here right now and I'm way past my scheduled sleeping time.

I hope this gives you an idea and if you have any questions for a fellow Asian Facepuncher, just PM and I'll help you as much as I can

Thanks for the tips. I think I'll use my own money to buy her a bottle of Olive oil for cooking if it helps at all.

I'm allergic to fish so that sucks.

Yea I've been trying to eat her spinach broth crap. Dunno what it is really. But it's green.

I usually don't have enough time for breakfast, as I get up 15 minutes before my 1st period. I'll think up of something.

thanks for the tips. these seem so simple, i hope they benefit alot.

Just start walking. Stick to a routine or have a note around to tell you to start doing it for at least 30 minutes a day, or maybe a few laps around the block.

Exercise is like a drug. Once you start doing it, you'll want more. Everyone started somewhere, nobody was born with a model's body or benching their weight 8 reps for 3 sets or breaking any sort of record. Walking and running pose virtually no danger to you, so just go on and do it. Now and then increase how much you do. It's good to start now, rather than later.

Just try it. One day, when you find yourself doing nothing productive, get your shoes on and take a walk. Utterly savor the fresh air. Say hello to the people you pass. Practice proper posture.

    Bring music with you.
