It makes me mad when people have better shit than me and I've been playing my character since January. :argh:
Welp the download is only 480 MB so I guess I have no reason not to play it.
What? I've been playing for 11 hours and my stuff is horrendous compared to you (except the stun gun and maybe the sword)
This isn't half bad really.
I didn't have enough money to replace the stun gun, but tomorrow I'll probably replace it.
My sword is the Calibur, does around 30-50 damage.
Edited:
Ill replace the shield too.
i told you man
i told you about jellies
also the latency bar in the top right has always been just one red bar. Shit sucks man
320 energy to revive jesus christ
Here's what I look like thus far
The Angelic Raiment was an impulse buy (a mere 10.5k - a steal!) and I just got the Bristling Buckler too. So yeah, got some new stuff to try out and shall be losing my t2 virginity later today
Edited:
Paint compressed the screenshot VV
I take it energy to revive gets higher as you revive more?
Edited:
I hope I don't have to buy ugly things just to keep up with the game later.
Yes. And if you don't like what you look like, you can wear any other armour you have as a 'cosmetic' armour, so it has the good stats, but looks like what you want to wear. Like currently I'm using cobalt armour and cobalt helm, but I'm using the starting armour and helm as the cosmetic stuff, so it looks like I'm wearing the starting armour, but I've got the cobalt stats. I just don't like the colour of the cobalt set currently so that feature worked nice for me.
Which part of my outfit is so ugly? :smith:
It's a bit morbid I suppose, I don't normally go for that sort of thing.
Here's how sexy I got to be by the moment, I guess I'll get a better helm later on, everyone and their mom haves a wolver cap.
Also, I commented on the Steam Profile of the Guild featured in the OP, still no invite.
also holy fuck i made so much cash in the auction house :buddy:
I have two questions about this game: How long does it take to go from no to full energy and how hard is it to buy energy using the in-game money later on?
takes 22 hours to get 100 energy
Woah guys, I crafted a Heavy Hatchet with "damage vs Construct: High"
Someone knows how much I can get from it in the AH?
Also, this is me ingame:
Full cobalt set + super blaster / tempered calibur
And the steam knight mask :smug:
Probably not very much, since it's a 1-star sword that has no upgrades.
:saddowns:
I'll post a bid starting from 1000cr ?
Oh, that's actually pretty damn neat.
I'm finally full tier 2,bad thing is that I'm out of energy because of the crafting and I don't have any more crowns left to buy more energy.
Gotta sell something or just wait 22 hours now.
I really don't know how much you could get for it. Sorry :(
If you got shards sell theem because they go for like 100-300 right now. Blue shards in particular are crazy at the moment. I managed to sell 10 for 3000 crowns on the auction house, that's almost another 100 ce right there.
Of course that's if you need cash and don't need the shards for crafting yourself
jelly palace
Why you always kick me and my friends collective asses?
Anyone fancy buying red shards for 100 each? I have like 30 and no use for them
Wow the community on this is amazing, a nice break from -other places-.
I love this game but it's saddening that I have to wait until the next day (when I probably don't feel like playing) for my energy stuff to fill up again.
So I set up a few 12 hour auctions about 10 hours ago. Half of the things still don't have bids placed on them, but the ones that do are more than enough to cover that. And there's still 2 hours, and none of my previous auctions have had bids until at least 1 hour left.
My bids were easy as shit, I just followed the economy downfall, I go one less crown than the 'best buy' product, set it to buy now price, and half of the buy now is the bid price
I'm very upset with the lack of drills in this game. I mean, shit, the name is SPIRAL KNIGHTS.
I had the same thought.
Here is some sweet music to compensate,
I've been playing for a while. Here's my recommendations on stuff:
Guns
Definitely Voltech or Cryotech for an elemental alchemer. You always want an elemental alchemer to deal with Gun Puppies, Lumbers, and Retrodes.
Autogun is pretty meh - it upgrades into the Volcanic Pepperbox which is IMO the best normal gun, but that's not saying much. Blitz Needle on the other hand is great for Vanaduke but not much for anything else.
Antigua is fantastic but also fantastically hard to get. I hope you like grinding for it! And the only upgrade worth even considering for it is the Silversix -> Argent Peacemaker line, which is one of the best guns in the game (especially for Vanaduke). It deals split damage (piercing/elemental) but this changes up it's strengths and weaknesses. Compared to the Alchemers, you deal with undead very very well, at the cost of being able deal with constructs at a range . Your choice - I chose an alchemer.
The Magnus line is pretty good. It's the only pure piercing line of guns in the game if you go to the Callahan (which is the only gun worth considering - the Iron Slug deals normal but is outperformed by everything else). Callahan looks badass and is the most powerful gun in the game. HOWEVER, shooting the gun immobilizes you and the reload makes you stand still. The only reason why I'm upgrading this gun is because the Callahan apparently knocks Wolvers the fuck out, and it's also the most powerful gun against Vanaduke.
The Blaster line is decent. Basically baseline. I've heard it's pretty good for kiting!
Also, don't get a shadow gun. It ain't worth it.
Swords
There's a lot of swords in the game. The ones that go to 5* are:
-Sealed Sword, which upgrades into Divine Avenger and Gran Faust. They hit like trucks and have excellent projectile charge attacks that hit for a metric fuckton. DA is a must in endgame, since it deals elemental damage.
-Flourish, which upgrades into the Final Flourish (the only one worth considering anyways). It's a great piercing sword.
-Snarble Barb is functionally identical to the Flourish and the Final Flourish line, except for the charge attack. I don't have one but the Barbarous Thorn Blade charge is a projectile one. I like the Flourish more since its easier to get a Unique Variant.
-Brandish, which I've never used but is a standard 3-swing sword with a projectile charge attack that has knockback. The Acheron is pretty good and deals shadow damage, and is a nice alternative to the Gran Faust. The Combuster and the Glacius are the same basically, but their charge attacks deal different status affects. Use the Glacius if you want to do Firestorm Citadel when you get to endgame.
-Calibur, which upgrades into the Leviathan Blade (don't use the Cold Iron Vanquisher, it's a piece of shit). It's a really well rounded sword since it deals normal and the charge attack is amazing since it deals a lot of damage and helps protect you.
-Cutter, which gets you into trouble a lot if you aren't careful with it in T3. Wild Hunting Blade is useless, just get a Flourish. Dread Venom Striker is great for Royal Jelly but not much else.
Fang of Vog is also 5* but if you have that then you already know about swords.
Bombs
I have little experience with bombs. I will say this though:
Spine Cone is just not very good. It deals lots of piercing and charges fast, and if you get lucky and get a UV like me (I got High Damage to Fiends) then it'll be even better. However, just use a Flourish if you want a quick piercing sword - seriously, it kills faster.
Haze Bomb is goddamn amazing, but the only UV worth getting is Charge Time Reduction. Aim for the Shivermist Buster - it's literally a necessity for taking down Vanaduke, and simply being a Shivermist bomber will get you a ton of friends begging you to do Vana runs with them. The other two bombs are also pretty good (Poison for Royal Jelly, Fire for DPS) but they aren't that useful compared to the ice bomb.
Blast Bomb is pure DPS if you go Nitronome. I don't know anything else about the other two 5* variants of it.
Graviton Bomb deals shadow damage and is good at the Jelly Palace but it's really slow and I don't like it.
Shields
There are not many 5* shields worth considering in the game. And really, what you want depends on what you want defense against.
Grey Owlite Shield is a big fuckin' owl, and gives a lot of defense against elemental damage (which is the main ranged damage in the game, because Gun Puppies). Also gives you some nice resistance against fire and shock.
Barbarous Thorn Shield has a very useful buff - Medium Sword Damage Bonus (the 4* and below have Low). It doesn't have any resistances and defends against piercing, which isn't that good, but the buff alone is worth it.
Dread Skelly Shield has not that good resistances but has some nice Shadow Defense. Good if you don't like undead, but elemental is just more prevalent so get Owlite.
Crest of Almire is the Grey Owlite Shield but with shadow defense instead of elemental defense. You need to defeat Vanaduke 12 times to get it though - good luck!
That's all the shields worth even going over. Aegis is outclassed by BTS, and the Omega Shell got nerfed hard when Three Rings made Jellies and Wolvers deal piercing damage.
Overall
Your armor is up to you, there's still a lot of decent armor in this game, like the Skolver/Vog set, Grey Feather/Divine, Volc Bomber, Volc Plate, Nameless, etc.
For a shield, get what you want. I suggest the Grey Owlite because even though Medium Damage Bonus is really nice on the BTS, Gun Puppies and other constructs will wreck your shit if you aren't careful enough with their ranged elemental attacks. The other two shadow shields just fill the gaps your shield leaves in the late-game.
For weapons, it really depends what path you go down. I bought my 2 other weapon slots early and I upgraded 4 swords all at once, and it paid off big time.
If you're a swordsman, and you have the luxury of four weapons, you can do what I did and get weapons to cover all the damage types (piercing, elemental, and shadow), and still have enough to carry a spare weapon for utility like a gun or a bomb. The three main swords you want to consider for that type are the FF/BTB, DA/Glacius, GF/Acheron. Then just carry around a Voltech/Cryotech or an Ice Bomb, or something else that you might like. Hell, even a Calibur if you're really going for all four swords (if so pick up a BTS to maximize your sword damage - combine it with the full Skolver set for Maximum Sword Damage, which is pretty goddamn awesome)
Gunslingers get the short end of the stick in this game. Their central armor (the Nameless set) provides no status resistances unlike the other armors geared towards buffing swords/bombs. It's really unfortunate. However, they do excel in survival. I never tried gunslinging, so read this: http://forums.spiralknights.com/en/node/5286
Bombers are quite good. They excel at crowd control but can't deal with dudes up-close. The Spine Cone line is a must since it's your only piercing bomb. The Nitronome is your main get-the-fuck-out-of-my-face weapon. The Shivermist Buster and the Ash of Agni both round out your elemental damage, freezing dudes and doing constant DPS respectively. Always aim for UVs of Charge Time Reduction: Low if you're wearing bomber armor, since then you'll have Charge Time Reduction: Maximum once everything's heated and upgraded (remember, good bomber armor like Volc Demo Suit or Mad Bomber Suit provides CTR) Also, read this: http://forums.spiralknights.com/en/node/4347
10 iron gears: short time left: 5000 crowns
This is the status of one of my auctions right now, is this good or no?
500 each seems to be what they go for at the moment - I sold mine for like 1k each a few days ago but they dropped since then.
I like how the price of energy shoots up.
Alright, managed to buy another 300 energy from those auctions.
The price of energy is always fluctuating. Up 'n down. Sorta like Puzzle Pirates doubloons. (Made by Three Rings, too.)
Beast scale armor is pretty :3
So I want to do some non-market energy trading. (Preferably selling.)
What would be a good price for x amount of energy? (I was thinking 375 crowns for 10 energy, but I think that might not be the best idea.)
I'm looking to make a tad more energy from this than from the energy market, but want to know how much energy to sell for how many crowns.
Edit: Also I can't find how to join trade chat.
Am I just really dumb or what?
