    The answer is no.
I think that if you sign in to Live with your Live ID in Windows, you should be entitled to fair play of your purchased (and supported) Xbox games on the PC (as long as there is a PC version supporting Live). Just like if you buy a steam game that supports Windows +Mac, you get to play on both platforms.

you have literally no reason to feel entitled to play the PC version of a game just because you bought the 360 version

games for windows live could actually gain a huge market share if they did this...

I hate to agree with fanboyism but honestly, I've heard nothing but bad comments from everyone who has tried the service, and I don't know a single game that matters that uses it, so I haven't had to chance to hate it by myself (or be pleasantly surprised)

    Edited:

I've honestly never had any trouble using the Games For Windows LIVE service, but I still prefer all my achievements and crap to be in one place.

Although if I knew I could get free Xbox 360 versions of DiRT 3, Fable III, Fallout 3, GTA IV, Quantom of Solace, and Section 8: Prejudice...I still wouldn't buy an Xbox

Odd, because I have zero issues. Just type in your credentials and license key, and your ready to go. On several different computers even.

My GFWL refuses to Auto log in in GTA IV, even though I've checked the box telling it to. Also as part of my job hunting my uni forwarded an email to me from Intel China asking people like me to come to China and help them make Windows 8 tablets. Shame I can't speak Mandarin

Anybody know of a better firewall for Windows 8? I don't like the one it comes with because I'm a bit of a control freak when it comes to allowing connections.

I hate all third-party firewalls, so I'm not gonna recommend one, but have you heard of Windows Firewall Advanced Security? It gives you extra options through the MMC, that should be all you need to be a control freak. I'll check on how to access it in Windows 8 in a second and update my post.

EDIT: Make sure you're on the desktop control panel for Windows Firewall, then click "Advanced Settings" on the left sidebar. Does that help?

In theory it should be possible as long as the drivers are writen for it, however I have no idea how the "BIOS" of the Sony Tablet would react and if it is even compatible with Windows 8.

Anything is possible. Whether or not you'd actually be able to do so is another matter entirely.

If it runs, the Comodo firewall is quite effective I've found. Plus the rest of the HIPS it provides is quite good at stopping rouge software unless you just allow everything through it without checking.

quick question -- I just set up the Dev Preview on my old HP Tx2 (that miraculously hasn't suffered complete horrible failure yet in spite of the GPU soldering apparantly having gone a bit iffy -- a unfortunate, yet common, fate for Tx2s). Once i got the N-Trig drivers set up, everything's smooth as butter -- Except for the fact that the three physical buttons on the bezel aren't working. In Windows 7, are:

    -One rotates the screen
-One has some Some swirly thing that i don't remember what it does
    -One opens the Mobility Center

Anyone know if i can at least get the rotation one working? this thing has no Gyrometer so having to to go to settings every time i want to hold it a different way is a bit inconvenient...

(Also, fuck the dipshit engineer at HP who thought combining a high-heat turion with barely adequate airflow and shoddy soldering was a good idea.)

You could probably do it via .net 4.5 somehow.

Well I just finished isntalling the CCC for Windows 7, and this is what it looks like:

I have no options for my videocard. I am using HDMI to connect to my monitor and right now I have these awful black borders because I can't use CCC to upscale the picture. Any ideas?

Windows 8(x86) is too awesome and it's exactly what I've wanted on a tablet, but while cheap x86 tablets don't arrive I've been planning to make a tablet for a while for myself, Today I've put my plans to practice using an old laptop with a broken keyboard and failing hinge, and the Touchscreen Panel I've ordered a month ago should arrive next week or so, Here's a teaser before I make a proper thread with the whole thing finished finished

When they eventually release the beta next month, it's still going to be several builds and build numbers behind what Microsoft really has. and when I say several, I mean SEVERAL. Like, they will already be putting the finishing touches on the RC, and waiting for people to submit bug reports to fix.

I noticed it runs slowly in VBox too. Impossible in VMWare. But this was as Windows 8 as a host as well.
