For your first machinima, I have to say you made good use out of camera angles. Keep up the good work

r_drawgui 0 will get rid of the ASSmod labels. Or you could just crop it out.

    Edited:

And ill admit, i chuckled at the hidden "Hot combine sextape" in the search bar when it showed the computer screen.

    Thanks for the command

And there's a funny story with that searchfield shortly after I made the video. My dad wanted to use the PC, so he sat down and looked at the screen, then asked "Son... Why are you looking up porn on my computer? In broad daylight?".

Nope. I didn't have any intentions to even TRY and mimic him. I want to be original.

And what I don't get with most of you guys is that you see pretty much ALL machinimas as DBS-style work.

As in youuuu, the viewers, see it as something DasBoSchitt would do. Whenevr someone posts a video here, 90% of the time EVERYONE will go "Oh, it's too much DasBoSchitt".

What's wrong with BoSchitt's movies? What's wrong with random gmod movies? The majority of people who go on YouTube enjoy watching them, they don't go on YouTube to watch some boring and serious Machinima, or an Emo GMV; THEY WANT TO LAUGH. His video isn't even close to being an 'imitation'. I guess you could call Djy1991 and DasBoSchitt Robot Chicken imitators. It doesn't matter if they're trying to base their video off something, what matters is the quality and the effort they put forth the video. I've seen some actual amazing work by other people that's just exactly like DasBoSchitt's videos, and they're just as funny and entertaining. Don't just close yourselves off and make what you would probably find entertaining, think about your AUDIENCE. Be original and working hard during the process. Most of the time people just like to half-ass their movies.

By the way, I lol'd at the combine sextape part. :D Keep at it, ZavCoyote.

OH so you wouldn't watch something more superior QUALITY as you said than of robot-chicken style videos like this!? You better reconsider what you just said.

14,000+ people watched thats HELL more than the minority.

And about my videos. I do not think about my audience. I think about myself. How I want my thoughts to be presented. Infact I truly believe that NO ONE, I say no one has made the video in my sort of style (no, not saying that I'm the only one who makes music videos)

I'd rather laugh my ass off than be bored to death with one of those movies. My opinion still stands. Trust me, I've tried very hard watching that style of movies.

It's great to think about yourself, but don't expect the majority of people to like it. A lot of people hate that kind of music, it just seems... too emo. I'm not bashing on your work saying it sucks, by all means you're doing a great job with your videos. Point is I want to laugh, not feel like shit and bored after watching a video.

I know Comedy isn't everything, but it's what people enjoy. Serious field is uncharted for a reason.

What you've pretty much said is that the "serious field" is for people who enjoy dark and emoish movies over comedy movies? If so, your logic is very flawed

Learn to read, what I'm saying is that people enjoy Comedy much more than the Serious Machinimas. It's not coming from my logic, friend, it's a fact. ;)

This is sadly true, most machinima viewers prefer comedic dribble than actual art

    oh well

    oh well.

*sigh* I guess you have to be right. as faolco said the piece of work that makes people laugh like hell stands out more than actual art.

It's great to think about yourself, but don't expect the majority of people to like it. A lot of people hate that kind of music, it just seems... too emo. My opinion about comedy vids like gmod idiot box and idiots of gmod, they actually drive you nuts making you constantly laughing for 10 minutes. your IQ is going to hell fast.

but anyways my videos are driven by me. not my audience. who I do not know who those are. I don't want my audience to affect the way I want my videos to be, you get what I mean?

Depressing, yes, too often do people think depressing music is emo music, Which is like saying if your unhappy then your emo then in this case everyone has been 'emo'. Look, life isn't easy, nor is it hard. people will watch my video's to take a breather from laughing their heads off constantly. videos like MaxOfS2D's Ghost will bring some sanity into people, making them stop for a moment and think. get what I'm saying?

I know I sound like I absolutely despise comedy but I don't it's just too much of it. If we could somehow bring realistic comedy to gmod like those of on TV shows then that would be great.

I take my videos Seriously, It means alot to myself and may mean something to others aswell. for example. my "Valentines Day" video, it relates to a majority of gamers who don't have a girlfriend and are wasting their time on GMod or other things. But some people may not want a girlfriend and you know, fair enough. When people watch my music videos. I want them to realise something, (or in some cases, I potray myself in them) if you don't come to realisation then thats your loss.

This is how serious I am taking my videos.

With all the stress I'm going through due to all of my classes, family, ect. laughing is the greatest medicine someone could give me. Those serious Machinimas are great and I know all of you put in a lot of effort, but there's reason why most people don't watch them. Comedy isn't all that easy to make either, actual good ideas are pretty hard to come up with. Videos that express feelings are great to communicate with other people dealing with the same issues, but it's not going to fix much. When something makes me laugh and I feel like crap it really gives me a boost for the whole day. I agree there's too many comedy videos, but most of them are really bad and just not funny. Only a couple of people actually make worthwhile comedy videos.

Life is hard, so make the best of it for you and everyone else. My IQ doesn't drop when I watch a comedy video, it inspires me, makes me look at its flaws, and gives me ideas.

Yeah but look at the majority of the videos that are posted, most of them don't have a lot of effort put into them. They use really bad facial expressions, use grav gun to throw rag dolls and have very little to no plot. Sure sometimes they can be funny if they are done properly, but 99% of the time they just come out as 9 year olds yelling on their mics.

I understand that these films are not that easy to make, and I understand that ideas are hard to come by, believe me I encounter this everyday, but the "filmmakers" don't spend enough time trying to make videos of quality. I know that most of the people watching these are mainly under the age of 13, but me being 18 I feel that these aren't funny anymore. Sure two year ago when "Idiots of Gmod" came out it was mildly funny, but after more then three hundred duplicates it has gone too far.

If someone was too make a comedy completely different then I would love to watch it, but until then I wont be watching too many of these.
