All I've seen are the viral videos and the first teaser. Damn glad, too. Ruining any of the mystery to a film like this would just suck.
I've been forcing myself not to watch trailers and read shit about this movie past the viral shit and even that I haven't been following closely
I've watched all trailers/clips etc, but they seem to share like 90% of the same footage.
I don't even remember half of the stuff I've seen.
The newest poster shows a quite big spoiler.
Good job, Fox.
I was wrong, but oh well. Maybe Prometheus will be the "spiritual" successor Alien never got.
well that scene is in the trailers so i dont think it gives anything new away
dont really see what the big issue is
Careful, something might pop out from one of those things
Same theme, and the name is "Friends from the past" maybe ol' dickhead aliens are gonna be back after all
That was my first thought as well.
Might be a bit too obvious though.
Watch the first 20 seconds of this video
The high pitched "BWAAA" sound/scream is the same as in the prometheus trailers.
This video was posted 2 years ago.
THAT video was posted 30 years ago.
ITS A CONSPIRACY
Here's my prediction (I believe everything's been leaked, check the "Parental Guidance" section on IMDB. As such, PLEASE, don't tell me if I'm right or wrong):
The crew of the Prometheus finds some sort of complex on LV-426. The place is home to the Space Jockies, engineers of various species across the galaxy. One of the Space Jockies' experiments has gone rogue (that little manta ray facehugger snake thing) and wiped them all out. The crew stumbles upon this life form, which systematically infects and kills nearly every member of the crew. Shaw's love interest (described as being very ambitious and such) takes things too far with the Jockies' abandoned tech, eventually becoming that big hairless guy we saw in the trailer. He engineers the Xenomorphs, the ultimate life form, storing the eggs in the derelect ship, planning to take the eggs to Earth, so as to usher in a new age of ultimate life forms. In order to stop him, they crash the Prometheus into the ship, permanently grounding the derelect. I'm guessing that the transformed crazy guy is either dead, dying, or just trapped in the Space Jockey chair, where he remains for years. Shaw sends out a distress signal ("We were so wrong..."), and that's more or less how it ends. Scott said it would raise even more questions (which could be answered in a sequel), so I'm guessing the sequel would delve into the origins of the thing that killed off the Space Jockies in the first place.
Hope this wasn't too much of a spoiler. It was in the latest tv spot.
if you think and absolutely feel its a spoiler why bother [img] tagging that
So is this a prequel to Alien or not?
It's basically some kind of IE ad.
I just had an idea (I'm not trying to sound like a sarcastic douche here, so don't take it like that):
If something is in the trailers/TV Spots, it's fair game.
UNLESS the only way to get a pic of it is to preform a split-second freeze-frame, then it'd probably be best to provide a link instead of [img] tagging it.
Tbh, I'm suprisingly okay with this...
It's not nearly as bad as that bulging stomach gif from a few pages back, thanks again :eyeroll: But it does make me wonder, just what the fuck am I looking at?
Some extra info was added to Prometheus's BBFC entry today. No real spoilers in it, at least there's nothing in it that we couldn't already guess.
Sean Harris is going to rock as Fifield in this. Did a kick ass job in Harry Brown as well (1 min 40 seconds):
I'm getting ready, just got Alien and Aliens on blu-ray.
Also that spoiler filled gif.
Looks like that big humanoid alien and the lead being attacked by a tentacle monster coming from a vent in the wall.
Great. Should have stayed out of the thread. Time to avoid this stuff for the next few weeks!
Watching aliens right now
After i saw a few parts with bishop and actually noticing for the first time how good lance was at being androidy i really wanna see Prometheus, i bet michael will be just as good as the android for this movie
Also, time for the blackout (for realsies this time).
Just went to IMDB (knowing to stay out of the "Parental Advisories" section after seeing that it was filled with what may be spoilers like *HONEST TO GO SPOILER* one female character dying when exposed to some pathogen or something ) and saw the trivia section.
So I'm looking through the "Spoiler-Free section"...
"Huh, so it was an Alien prequel. Then Scott decided he wanted to do something totally original. THen everyone stopped caring, so he made it an Alien prequel again that has slightly less to do with Alien than the first time..."
*scroll down, still spoiler-free section*
*DO NOT READ THE BELOW SPOILER IF YOU HAVE READ "IN THE MOUNTAINS OF MADNESS"*
" Guillermo del Toro has decided to hold off on his adaptation of "In the Mountains of Madness" because there are apparently multiple scenes that are nearly identical, not to mention the two films have the same twist at the end. "
WELL THANKS GUILLERMO, YOU BIG FAT HISPANIC FUCKFACE.
Kidding. Luckily I haven't read any Lovecraft, so I just need to avoid that aswell.
I want to read those spoilers so bad.
