I'm pretty sure Scott must be angry at the Fox marketing department. They like to spoil some pretty heavy stuff.
Personally, I try to avoid trailers that are longer than 30-40 seconds, because trailers tend to universally give away entirely too much of the story if they're any longer than that.

All I've seen are the viral videos and the first teaser. Damn glad, too. Ruining any of the mystery to a film like this would just suck.

I've watched all trailers/clips etc, but they seem to share like 90% of the same footage.

I don't even remember half of the stuff I've seen.

Ah yes I've already entered it twice haha. I don't think they give you any transport down if you do win it though so whoever wins might have to pay a lot of money to get to London.

I see where you're coming from, and honestly I expect the plot to be a little bit formulaic considering this movie looks, in a lot of ways, to be a "remixed" Alien, if you will. I'm sure Scott will manage to surprise us anyways.

Also, the more I think about it, the more I think I really didn't like Aliens all that much. It was enjoyable, sure, but it's riddled with inconsistencies and pointlessness. I adore Alien and think it's one of the greatest movies I've ever seen, so maybe I'm just holding Aliens to too high a standard... but there's just so many problems. (Ripley's daughter arbitrarily introduced in order to artificially add psychological depth, for example. Or how Hadley's Hope never once noticed the Alien ship in the SEVERAL DECADES they were on LV-426. Or how Ripley and Gorman make a big deal about not firing Pulse Rifles in the nest and then Vasquez proceeds to spray-fire with her smartgun with no noticeable consequences. And more.)
James Cameron is Michael Bay with two more points put into actual technical competency. If you're watching a James Cameron movie for character or plot, you're doing it wrong.

Also tbh I liked all the characters in Aliens so I don't know what anyone's on about. They all felt pretty genuine, whether or not they really were able to develop before they started getting slaughtered.

Heh, yeah, I noticed. It's just, I've heard a lot of people praising Aliens and after adoring Alien I figured even if it took an action perspective, it'd be pretty great.

I was wrong, but oh well. Maybe Prometheus will be the "spiritual" successor Alien never got.

They don't show why the derelict ship is exploding and crashing unlike that poster does.

If you can't piece that together from the trailer alone there's something very, very wrong with your ability to logically deduce a conclusion from evidence.

Here's my prediction (I believe everything's been leaked, check the "Parental Guidance" section on IMDB. As such, PLEASE, don't tell me if I'm right or wrong):
The crew of the Prometheus finds some sort of complex on LV-426. The place is home to the Space Jockies, engineers of various species across the galaxy. One of the Space Jockies' experiments has gone rogue (that little manta ray facehugger snake thing) and wiped them all out. The crew stumbles upon this life form, which systematically infects and kills nearly every member of the crew. Shaw's love interest (described as being very ambitious and such) takes things too far with the Jockies' abandoned tech, eventually becoming that big hairless guy we saw in the trailer. He engineers the Xenomorphs, the ultimate life form, storing the eggs in the derelect ship, planning to take the eggs to Earth, so as to usher in a new age of ultimate life forms. In order to stop him, they crash the Prometheus into the ship, permanently grounding the derelect. I'm guessing that the transformed crazy guy is either dead, dying, or just trapped in the Space Jockey chair, where he remains for years. Shaw sends out a distress signal ("We were so wrong..."), and that's more or less how it ends. Scott said it would raise even more questions (which could be answered in a sequel), so I'm guessing the sequel would delve into the origins of the thing that killed off the Space Jockies in the first place.

Uh, yeah, I'd say that's pretty damn spoiler-ey.

I just had an idea (I'm not trying to sound like a sarcastic douche here, so don't take it like that):
If something is in the trailers/TV Spots, it's fair game.
UNLESS the only way to get a pic of it is to preform a split-second freeze-frame, then it'd probably be best to provide a link instead of [img] tagging it.

Tbh, I'm suprisingly okay with this...
It's not nearly as bad as    that bulging stomach gif from a few pages back, thanks again :eyeroll:   But it does make me wonder,    just what the fuck am I looking at?

I liked that little smile he kept doing, almost like a mechanical tic (for instance, look right after he says "I may be synthetic, but I'm not stupid").

Also, time for the blackout (for realsies this time).
Just went to IMDB (knowing to stay out of the "Parental Advisories" section after seeing that it was filled with what may be spoilers like *HONEST TO GO SPOILER*    one female character dying when exposed to some pathogen or something   ) and saw the trivia section.
So I'm looking through the "Spoiler-Free section"...
"Huh, so it was an Alien prequel. Then Scott decided he wanted to do something totally original. THen everyone stopped caring, so he made it an Alien prequel again that has slightly less to do with Alien than the first time..."
    *scroll down, still spoiler-free section*
*DO NOT READ THE BELOW SPOILER IF YOU HAVE READ "IN THE MOUNTAINS OF MADNESS"*
Guillermo del Toro has decided to hold off on his adaptation of "In the Mountains of Madness" because there are apparently multiple scenes that are nearly identical, not to mention the two films have the same twist at the end.   "

WELL THANKS GUILLERMO, YOU BIG FAT HISPANIC FUCKFACE.
