You screwed the finger posing several times on the tutorial.
:hurr:
Edit;
Now really, I like this, I think more people should reply more carefully but most cant be arsed too so they just leave a comment and go.
Also another thingie is that most people CAN judge a picture not knowing shit about editing or posing so they cant really reply more than "The fire looks bad","Too dark", etc.
I see what you did there
Edit;
yeah i understand what your saying :)
I read part two! :buddy:
Excellent explanation GoldenBullet, criticism is very important and keeps the forum, well...productive :P
Very nice tutorial. The posing is good, (I don't think that is the point but, you know C:). This will teach the people who reply 2 seconds after the pose using less than a sentence of non-helpful junk. This thread will be helpful to the new comers too.
Now I know, and knowing is half the battle!
To mention a few, H3llfire741, The Combine, Bubz, and Bodenlan but he's funny as fuck
I approve!
Well done:golfclap: I would have used an improperly dressed female model for the tutorial. There is nothing like being told right from wrong while staring at boobs. People tend to get lesser upset as well:smug:
Why would I listen to Ellis when my work is all a joke.
A big fat joke.
Call me Neil Hamburger. Nothing more than a joke who doesn't take time into making pictures for a community of people who are in the same direction of which we all are in;
Editing pictures is our specialty and some are wanting it to be their specialty ( like me ) And this Tutorial shows how you give the Productive Replies to those people.
When what we really need is learn to bond with each other and become comrades and work together on solving the pictures troubles.
While like me and a few other bits of the community get there work trashed with nothing but comments that don't do shit for me. Please, brothers.
I read all of that in Ellis's voice. Very good tutorial on...well, posting. It's something most of us here could benefit from reading. I can't help but notice I am guilty of a few of the things Ellis told me not to do :saddowns:
Hey, comments from MY thread are in here. I love you GoldenBullet. :buddy:
Edited:
Thanks to this thread, I plan on actually COMMENTING on other peoples work, other than caring only for my own. Helpful guide.
Pic is too generic...
So what do we say about those ones?
Too bad hardly anyone replies to mine anymore.
Pose is bad, graphics suck, editing sucks, you suck, go kill yourself
JUST KIDDING :P
Great job GoldenBullet, you say what everyone is thinking, hopefully this has a positive impact on the forum community. I recommend a mod sticky this for new comers.
Well to be honest, tell me what is so bad about a generic pose? Sure it's seen a lot, but how is that a bad thing? I honestly think it's just another bandwagon people mindlessly jump on. There is nothing wrong with saying "this is generic", as long as you still comment on the quality of the picture, perhaps give ideas on the next image so it's a little more unique :)
Thanks to everyone else.
I approve of this. I will improve, and I hope you all will as well.
Nicer sub-forum means nicer pictures. Isn't that what we all want?![]()
I read the title as 'productive reptiles'.
I am disappointed. [/offtopic]
The tutorial was actually very good, and I spotted a few minute tips for extreme beginners in there.
I approve of this greatly. Combine you better read this.
I have been really pissy lately, and I apologize for that. I'm not sure why.
Anyways, I'm gonna try to get better and give out positive criticism as well. Not just point out the bad things.
I read it and I agree with you at some points, and yeah I wasnt very helpful the last few weeks.
Still I cant see the damn reason to give constructive critism to somebody with 23 Posts. In my opinion, if the person who made the picture really likes doing them, he will continue. No matter what other people say.
For example, the picture were my comment was taken from. It seemed like a 0 effort picture to me. So I looked at the flaws I found and wrote them down. Whats wrong with that?
But yeah, those 1 liners are not really nice.
Yeah, whats the point in being nice to someone with 23 posts. Don't assume they're a troll or some alt trying to post shitty pictures, assume it's a new person posting a new picture. You never know
I dont assume they are trolling, I just think they will post their one picture and after that never visit this section again.I think sometimes its just a waste of time to post a contructive and well tought out post because they maybe dont even think about reading it.
So Im gonna stick with my current posting but I think im gonna change something. If I spot somebody that actually comes back with his 4th picture and still wants to get better at posing/editing Im gonna try to give him some good critism.
Yay! I am in teh example!
Yeah, i tell just critisism pretty often, if the image doesn't amaze me, I'll try to encourage a bit ;)
But, of course I always try to encourage newcomers that aren't bitchy :3
Maybe they'll never visit the section again because instead of "hey, maybe try out this to make your pictures better and post again?" they get "this is shit gtfo fucking troll". A new rule to give yourself should be "if I can't think of a single good point to post, however small, or a single suggestion for improvement other than "this or that sucks", then I won't post".
90% of FP posts without thinking about their posts I pretty much just did the same.
I barely reply to pictures because I think to much about it before posting, like why would he have chosen the colours and would my critism be right?
Therefore it takes so much time I barely comment on a picture
Edit:
Fuck ye I have an unique style of thinking :buddy:
Like I said. Not everybody thinks like you.
You sound like a Gestapo officer justifying arresting Jews.
"Oh everyone else does it so it's okay."
Don't you think that's the most overused, flawed and clichéd argument in history? And not to sound clichéd myself, but that's a great problem with the world in itself, but that's rather blowing things out of proportion (the internet is serious business).
Ultimately, it will take a tiny amount of time to change your posting habits and in the end it will only make the screenshots section a better place to be... and there's no negative in that, right?
People are taking this hobby way to serious.
Well yeah, nothing wrong with that.
Way to backtrack. Only 54 minutes ago did you say you need to change your commenting behaviour.
And this is the internet. What the hell were you expecting? And as I see it, being competitive and passionate about a hobby like photoshop editing and photography is exactly the same as having the same feelings towards a sport or martial art or whatever.
Just saying, dude.
Riiiiiight. "Just saying" in bold-italic font so everyone can see your glorious point. Keep backtracking, but it's not making you look any more the coolly detached guy who just likes the dabble here.
You always know JUST what to say
hahahaha There's a post from my thread with the nazis.
Thank you for this tutorial.
good to know.
