Wow thanks a lot for all the great comments guys!
It's all very great.
Smoke trails are nice, explosions are amazing as usual, I think that the tracers should be a bit larger, and the plane's muzzle flash looks oddly shaped to me.
Muzzle flashes aren't always a uniform shape but I understand where you're coming from.
Pose is good on Nick and on the people in the vehicle. I lol'd at Louis' facepose even though it's blurred a lot. And I see some isolation errors on his jetpack.
Isolation errors? Really? Where?
Great effects as usual. Nice shading too.
I can't help but prefer Superscatman's edit though, as he plays around with the lighting more than just dodging and burning and the blur on the background helps cover up the dodgy Harrier models somewhat.
Yea, Scatman's a god with lighting. Though I was aiming for a slightly more atmospheric "snapshot from a movie"-esque style of editing. As for the blur, I had originally wanted to keep the jets in focus. I admit the model is a little low res but they aren't that terrible (and there aren't any better harrier models) One thing that surprised me about both edits is the lack of motion blur to simulate speed. Most of the time people will add zoom blur to pictures just to make it look fast, without even thinking about how things would actually be blurring, but I guess not in this case...
Still, a great picture with a fabulously original idea.
I know this isn't what inspired you, but the picture reminds me of the ending of the Iron Man 2 trailer.
Thanks!
The day I learn to do explosions like that, hell will freeze over. Very impressive shit, share your secrets :c
Great things come to those who wait... or something like that.
I promise you, at some point in time, I will make an explosion tutorial (maybe even a smoke tutorial as well)
This is sweet. I love it.
The little lens flare from the rockets flame was a nice touch. You even added shading to his teeth :D
Edited:
and you added turbines to the engines!
Glad you noticed the lens flare, and even more glad that you liked it! :buddy:
It was a little experimental touch, I wasn't sure how it would be received (I figured since Mass Effect 2 has them scattered around like... something.. you... scatter around... people wouldn't find it too out of place)
Also... yeaa... I added turbines...
ahem...
We need a comic of this guy.
NOW.
Don't worry, this won't be the last you'll see of Agent Badass.
