Hey guys I will post pics on the pod racer i recently made. Its not that great but for someone who has almost no knowledge in expressions i though it was pretty good. Post responses and ways to improve my building.

you post screens by uploading them somewhere, then type "" after it.

and I can't really tell if those engines are models, or really good prop placement. If it's the latter, then good job!

EDIT: also, your FPS is horrible.

Good pod racer. I really like the looks of it! my only gripe is that the engines are not independent of the cockpit. Oh, and there was FAR too much lateral movement. Pod racers should behave more like cars, not like hovercraft. I DO like the throttle alarm explosions thingy.

Looks really nice, but the pod probably shouldn't be welded to the engines, and the pod could use a fin on it, like a rudder, to end your slipping and sliding =D

Or put a speedo and thruster on the side of the seat pod and wire it to "Z"

Yeah thats what I meant. Basically, just duplicate your hovering system for each of the two engines as well as the cockpit.

Speedometer and vector thruster can do that?? Wish I'd have known before making an oriental dragon with like 40 wire gates controlling fins :(

ya i agree but what would be the best way to stablize the pods and cockpit? and if you wired the speedometer to the thruster wouldnt that mean that if it starts going fast it will just start flying? the way i hovered was 4 rangers on the pods and an expression that said the thrusters = rangersmaxheight - ranger.
    i like the fin idea.

Well you'd place the speedo on the side of it and then a thruster at the same angle of it. Then just wire the thruster to the speedo. Some people put that on cars and call it TC, which is all wrong but it works like some magical ESP/ASM or something. Would work out good on a pod racer/anything that slides too much.

    Edited:

forgot you have to tick the "xyz" shit on the speedo, and then wire the thruster to "z"

My only complaint is that the whole thing turns at once. this is inconsistant with the 'realistic' movie method in which the whole thing is dragged behind the pods and the pods turn, then the driver pod swings around behind, like my podracer. Though i will admit yours is far far more astheticly pleasing then even my updated one. I achived mine with a phx plate axiesed to the driver pod. it was held in place with elastics. It as slave balscoketed (with free movement so only rotation on x is affected and the pods move around independantly) So when the plate on the bottom turns (independantly of the driver pod, on its axis), the engine pods turn with it. I used weak thrusters that dont really affect direction to turn the plate, so the engine pods turn ahead with only the force of thier pulling and rotating.
