How can something from fiction not be open to interpretation?

Besides, it already has been interpreted different ways.

I agree with Vman. If it hasn't been done yet, and I'm assuming you haven't made a scientific breakthrough to wage war in space, it's anybody's game.

I think you're failing to realise that spacemarines are a thing of fiction (sorry, did I ruin your little world there?) and that the WH40K creators did not invent them.
