"Join us in a mans story to riches, the escape of poverty, hunger and shame. Men seeking to find their way off the street by fighting to the death for the lowly rich community's entertainment. "

Well this is one of my very first attempts at a dramatic garrys mod film. So C&C and tell me how I can
    improve.

Interesting, pretty good for a first. I didn't get the change in setting though, but the camera angles were good. Also, you should put Thomas Newman's name in the credits.

Thanks alot. It was pretty frustrating learning how to use the accidently bought sony vegas 9.0 tool I got a long time ago but I guess it paid for itself, and.. who is Thomas Newman?

Thank you very much, I did put a lot of effort in to the movie and even though I know it's not the best I myself know it's something so thank you very much for your comment and hopefully I'll get better and better at it and maybe someday I can make some really good machinimas, ya know? :buddy:

Thomas Newman didn't create the music that you used for this?

You should expand on this film. It looks like it has potential.

Oh right. Yes he did create the music but I kinda spent alot of time making and rendering the movie in sony vegas that I forgot to put that in there. It's too late now though, I'm not going to wait another hour just to put in a name. Anyways I'm alright as long as I don't claim it as my own music.

I was thinking about it but I was kinda aiming for a one shot movie where "That's-That" and I wouldn't create anymore. It was kind of a little project you could say. But you can expect me to be making other films like this.

You forgot to thank your personal mentor.

    Edit:

Btw, it turned out well for an entry-level film. It was good for your first, I'm glad you finally learned Catmull. Vegas, like I showed you via TeamViewer, looks hard at first but is just so easy to use once you get the hang of it. I am excited to see your newer videos. Maybe a collab in the future?

However, I would work on some of the cameras, as a few at the fight scene appeared to be kind of bland. I am still happy with your work though, the music was just fantastic.

Go easy on the camera movements.

Well thanks, I did work very hard on it and did make a few mistakes but the outcome came out pretty well, or so I think, and yes- Vegas was very easy to master. Anywho you can expect to see another one coming up pretty soon, and maybe if I do get better we can work on a collab together. Anyways thanks very much for the constructive criticism.

I could have used the Hitchcock effect if that's what you want. Surely nausea and puking is fun right? But sure, I'll see what I can do if I have a slightest clue of what you meant.

At the start you went crazy with the Catmull camera, the camera movement looks unrealistic and tacky.
You dont have to fit everything into one shot. Just because you have Catmull camera, it doesn't mean you have to use it all the time. You can get the same or better effect out of static shots sometimes.

Listen, I was new and was experimenting with different camera techniques. Instead of using multiple camera angles, I wanted to, as a director, make the creative option of following the story almost completely in one continuous shot. I'm sure you understand. :fuckyou:

Well this is where you have to kind of use your imagination, maybe the crowd and HL2 characters could help lighten you up- But that doesn't matter at all right? I tried to capture a "Fight to the death if you want to stay off the streets" kind of film, whereas the protagonist is portrayed "The Best" and this, again, is where your imagination kicks in and tells you "Oh, While Gordon Freeman is saving the day, this poor bum is fighting to stay off the streets.." :fuckyou:
