This thread needs more criticism.

1. Everything casts a shadow, make it so. Good job on the shadows from the guns, they look nice.
2. Texturing via photoshop is super cool. Make sure everything has a new texture applied to it.
3. Film grain is for losers and hippies. Don't do it or I'll tell my various Gods on you.

They wear the same camo as whatever the army is using at the time and, in 1989, that was the ye olde tri-colour woodland (although not with a crappy desert vest, as this skin has).

Yeah, yeah I know. I was just interested to know what someone thinks I have spelt wrong.

I bet it's "mobilise" even though you can spell it with an S or a Z.

The snow and DoF both look very nice, and the posing is good as usual. But like Mutation said, there definitely needs to be more shading. Especially on the choppers. I also think that, rather than white, it might be cool looking to have some faint clouds in the background. Letterboxes and a vignette might help as well.

Secondly: As i recall it, it were primarly Rangers, who moved in to retake Governors Island and i also recall some Super Stallions in the Trailer with the label MARINES.

So what made you think, those were Guardsmen ?

1. What did you expect me to do? Bump a 6 month old thread for a picture that is clearly better than the majority of stuff on the front page? No.

2. Did you read the thread and view the reference picture? I don't think you did. Other pictures will be made featuring Super Stallions. Would you like to reskin the Blackhawks grey and add a MARINES label to them for me?

3. I assumed that, considering that almost the entire military is engaged in the invasion of Europe, that it would mostly be national guard involved in the isolated counter-attack on Governor's Island. Maybe you are as likely to recall as wrongly as me, because I recall someone mentioning National Guard in the game. Regardless, why does it matter? It's just the thread title.

Okay then. I don't really mind about the nit-picking when it's stuff that really matters or is something I can actually change in the picture, but the whole "national guard" thing is pretty pointless, because all it is is the thread title.

In the original WiC, the assault force that attack Governor Island were Army Rangers, and they were deployed in Army Blackhawk and Marine CH-53s.

The only problem with the picture is that the soldiers are wearing ACUs, which doesn't exist in 1989. Other than that, great picture, keep up the great work. :)

I did have an idea for some reskinning and remodeling on the HECU guys after Taggart did a 'hack, but I don't have any modeling programs or enough scratch to buy it.
