So what ?
Poker & Chess are games too and yet they get handled like one hell of serious buisness.
Besides, i don't really look at G-Mod as a Game anymore, more like an oppertunity to give your fantasies and ideas a shape. Also, what kind of game can help you gaining artistic skills ? (I'm talking about artistic perception)
Of course you will only gain skills if you push your limits further and evolve. Just how real art does.
There's a difference between taking your work seriously and being a stuck-up, pretentious, condescending artfreak about it. And posts like this cross the line:
I see by now that Facepunch is not ready for a different kind of contest.
Lets see how much will be posted by the end of the week. If it's going to be very low, I'll call off this contest and mark the Operation:"Professional Creativity" as a failure. I'll try it some time later again. Maybe in a year or two, when the majority of the comunity drop the balls and be ready for a challenge of their skills.
Really, What did you expect? "Professional Creativity" is not done by placing silly limits on the usage of models, Especially when most of the respectable authors have moved on from using said models because of their poor quality and poseability. And keeping the theme to "Combines and Rebels" for the sake of keeping the pictures true to HL2 and away from fan-fiction is silly as most poses of this very theme wind up being exactly that regardless of the limits: Stupid, Poorly done fan fiction. And making rewards for people of this level only encourages fighting and disagreements.
I'm deeply sorry that Facepunch can't match your standards. Perhaps you should consider that we're not a pro artist board and instead, People having fun.
