I've dropped six badly-built tanks that intentionally blackhole on random sandbox servers before (empty ones, mind you). Welding everything to a central heavier prop, nocolliding everything that needs to be (and nothing that doesn't) and building with less props goes a long, long way. I find servers easily tolerable at 2.5k in. It doesn't bother me, and there's not that much lag relative to how much is going on.

I can do 8 in singleplayer, but that's singleplayer.

Testing the old TT.com servers. Spawned several of my laggiest contraptions all at once. Had 10,000 in pretty constantly.
