I kinda thought so too, but that's just how Vortiguants look from the side; they are very hunched over and it makes them look like they're going to fall over. It's a shame because the pose looked really good from the front, at least in my opinion.

I knew someone was doing some weapons like the Arc gun, and me and Back Slash have been making MNU officers and soldiers (and I've managed to make a white IMI Tavor), but I didn't realise someone was doing the Prawns. Awesomesauce!

It's not hard; you just need to have an idea of what you want right away and be inventive when it comes to covering up the edge of the map. Forest/grassy field scenebuilds can take a very long time because you have to place hundreds of grass effects and trees, but urban/semi-urban builds like this can be quite quick because you can always cover the horizon up with a random building.

Another trick is to not worry about what you can't see. The shacks in this picture have see-through roofs if viewed from above because of the model I used for the picture. There's also no walls on the right or left of the main shack.

Though the editing to darken the inside there and I think to make the metal rusty looking is nice, I just can't shake away how horribley posed that Vortigaunt is. I know, that you were probably going for the Prawn's up-right posture, but never the less, it ended up looking horribley slacked. That's probably my only disappointment with the picture. Other than that, it's rather nice.

I didn't want to desaturate it because I like to keep my lighting as realistic as possible, rather than cinematic.

Realistic isn't allways high colorcontrast :P
I find pictures that are a bit desaturated more realistic then pictures with high colorcontrast..

And personally I am struggeling with finding the correct realistic feel over my images :P

Officers and Soldiers!? What models are you using/skinning? Or is that a secret....?

A secret!? Haha no no. I'll post a few pictures in a moment.

I haven't started the officers in black from the start of the film (the guys who go with the MNU employees to evict the prawns) but I'll probably use a CT skin as the base for those guys.

As for the soldiers, I've nearly finished my v2 of those guys and I'm using the CoD4 operators as my model. Hopefully someone will hack some HL2 rebel heads onto them for me when I'm done.
