    A turret. It's mounted. You spawn it and press E on it to use it.

    I started this awhile ago, but never really finished it, so I figure I'd release what's done so far instead of letting it rot on my hard drive.

    The script is in working order. It's a STool that lets you spawn a turret, and choose things like its model, bullet tracer and muzzle effects, and explosive bullets and stuff. The effects sometimes break unless you do effects_reload in the console, because I didn't know how to use CreateMaterial at the time I made this.

    No pics because I don't care if you download it or not. It's just a gun sitting on an upside-down electrical plug.

    If you activate this then go in a pod or other vehicle, it stays active and under your control! Awesome! :excited:

    When I spawn the entity of it it shows up as Error, and when I try to spawn one with the tool it says that I've reached the maximum number of mountable turrets. Anyone care to help me out? Is there a command to change the limit or are you supposed to use the spawned entity. If so, how do I get it to show up instead of an error. Is it not multiplayer compatible?

    Hm.
    It keeps losing control of the turret if you're in a moving pod. (like, a pod welded to a jeep with a turret in front of it)

    You need to spawn it throught the "Mounted Turret" STool (under Construction I think). The SEnt isn't supposed to be there... I left it spawnable by mistake.

    And thanks for reminding my about the crossbow thing, that's another partially unfinished script that I haven't worked on for a while that I should release.

    Thanks a lot for the reply, and could you tell me how to increase the mountable turret limit? It isn't listed as sbox command when I go through the list, and is set to 0. Alternatively I could try changing the limit it pulls from but I'm not so good at the lua, hehe.

    Just get assmod and enable " Admins has no limits "

    Also I'm really fucking happy that I got a really short day at school today, I'm gonna have some real fun later.

    oooh lol sorry I read your first post too fast. :ninja:

    Anyway I have no idea why it doesn't work. :( The command was supposed to be sbox_max_mounted_turrets I think. I'll look into it.

    Not sure about this but do you press e to use it or numpad? Using numpad would be better since you can drive and shoot at the same time!

    That command doesn't work :( .

    And what does the entity in the Sent menu do? It's an error for me. And is it possible to steer a turret while inside a vehicle?

    that plug makes the turret looks realistic. try to change the color of the plug to black.

    Quite frankly the most immense tool since ever. I have been wanting this baby for sooo long, even if it was only the bunker gun. As it is, I can now make tank guns, AA flak cannons, airboat guns, sniper rifles, combine helicopter weapons and bunker guns. So, thanks you muchly Teta, you are a god. (DUAL WIELDING AIRBOAT GUNS! IMMENSE!)

    My one complaint is that getting it to work while in vehicles is a bit of a bitch, although it is possible.

    I love it, fun as hell to play around with.

    My biggest concern is that I can't seem to change the spread of bullets. They always fire perfectly straight, only the recoil makes it harder to aim (this also makes shotguns impossible). Also, there are no effects for things like plasma.

    So, I'd like to see a release with a working spread slider.

    Anyone care to venture a guess as to how to disable the requirement of a maximum limit in case Mr. Bonita decides not to fix that?
