Just had this issue happen to me as well, right after using speed command. Never used the command before today, and this is how I get "rewarded." Can't stay in my own server for more than 3 seconds at a time.

If you get kicked/dropped from a dev server now for invalid packet, or invalid entity count, can you send the Networking.Log.txt from the rust folder to me at garrynewman@gmail.com
This is for dev server users, so if you're still getting the issue without being on a dev server maybe mention that in the email.

Noticed it happens incessantly for me when either taking damage, or within a radtown.
Driving me crazy, made a clean radrun with some good loot, took in total 8 kicks / logins just to get clear of the radiation zone :(

Have sent the networking.log file to Garry, hopefully he'll sort it.

I Have a same problem many times on "facepunch London I" server. I think that trouble in someone of items in bag.. You can write "kill" into console and above this trouble, but when you taking back your items, you will be kicked again by "invalid packet"... I trying to drop some items, and error message change on "entities out of order" and kicked again and again.

Uninstall rust, delete all files from rust folder in steam library at you computer, reinstall and then works for some moments... then again the same. Serverside update should hopefully fix, was released last night.

I'm getting the following in the client output_log.txt

Getting kicked when the client gets this error is one thing, but not being able to log back onto server at all after it happens is really crap.
I just keep on being kicked with the same error the moment the client tries to receive data.
Is there somewhere we can submit the logs to the devs?

    Please fix this!!!

    Destroyed 1 map networkables

I can't go inside radtowns in the main version, or near bases, otherwise I get that crash. Its either about blueprints, metabolism, playerstate or something about protobuff. Did notice if I get someone to kill my sleeper, then I can get in for about 5 minutes before I get kicked. Gets kind of annoying. Run my own server, and can't even get on it to administrate.

Now it changed to Invalid Raknet Packet. But the bug still makes the game not playable.

Same with me, took me 20 mins this morning to get out of radtown, stream of 30+ kicks. Same happens when im in water and randomly anywhere on the map.

Funny thing is, i can go for a naked radtown run and its fine, no kicks, soon as i put some clothes on i cant get near the place.

    Update News posted:
    Packet Errors

When we first moved to Raknet were getting occasional problems with entities being missing on the client. The server was sending them but they weren't showing up. Investigation found that the entities weren't reaching the client - but we had a lot of invalid packets.

I added a checksum to the entity networking process. Players that were missing entities got kicked. The assumption was that these were network issues, maybe people were on a shit internet connection.

But then a lot of people started getting kicked. And it was the same people. The main reason for moving to Raknet was that it's a tried and tested platform, so any bugs were going to be in my code. So I spent hours ripping my code to bits, putting it back together in a different order. No change. So maybe it's some other code overwriting the memory that contains the packets, so I disabled any other native code we had running which could be a problem. No change. So maybe it's some compiler flag in our native dll, maybe it's a raknet define, maybe we're sending too much data and raknet isn't tested for it. All no change.

After reading through lots of feedback from you guys (thanks), I spotted a pattern. It was happening when the packet was larger than the MTU (the maximum size of information that fits in a single packet), so it was only happening when the packet had to be split.

I set up a bunch of logging which confirmed it. Some packets were split and put back together again, and the one that errored out was put back together but we'd received the last peice first. But surely raknet would handle that right? Surely it would put shit back together in the right order?

Nope. We've had no more issues with the dev servers since I applied a fix to this, but I'll be keeping my eyes open.
Seems to be fixed, lets test it
