Hey Garry, or Face Punch, or whoever this may concern.

Im hoping this information can help. I work at a game server provider and nearly every customer is having these issues. Initially the servers were giving mismatch errors (when generating the seed?) and players could not join. The latest update seems to let players join but the md5 mismatch is still present and players players/assets are spawning irregularly. I have verified that the dedicated server files are the latest and tested servers outside of our network with similar results. I think this is a universal problem.

If you need anymore information or help please contact me.

    Thanks,

Our server is having the same issue.
We spawn under the map underwater.
When we do make it to land there are no resources at all.
No rocks, no trees, no animals. Nothing.
Even the radiation is gone from the rad towns etc.

We host our server from gameservers.com.
The issue starts from the moment we update to 1178.

Delete the "RustDedicated_Data" folder and reupdate the server.
    That fixed it for me.

I really hope this gets fixed soon. Also, I do not have the "RustDedicated_Data" in my server.

What i did was install server, update to 1178.
    Start server, stop server.
Open FTP and delete "RustDedicated_Data" folder or it's content.
Do the 1178 update again and start server.

Can confirm this works. Had a problem deleting the directory on gameservers.com so I just renamed it. My server is up and running. Radtowns!!! :D

Don't know why I didn't think of this! I can confirm this worked for me (for about 10 minutes, until they updated Rust to 1179!)
