    Looting:
So as most of us remember, in Legacy, the point of looting was to find new blueprints. Occasionally tho, someone would get lucky and find an M4 or Bolt Action rifle in one of the loot containers. This is what I want to talk about. In my opinion, I think it would be unwise to add fully crafted guns to the loot table again. Instead of looting, I think it should be more like scavenging. We are hoping to find materials rather than products. In a post apocalypse back-to-the-stone-age scenario I'm not going to come across a perfectly protected gun inside its case. At best, I'm going to find some metal to melt down, or decent medical supplies or maybe some other random stuff that is low tech.

tl;dr: Don't add high tech gear like guns to loot tables for radtown please or at least let the server admins set the loot tables

    EDIT: Radtowns
I'd also like to talk about something a little more trivial but nonetheless annoying to me. These radtowns feature common sights from todays inner city business districts such as 21st century automobiles, traffic cones, wooden pallets, 'Do Not Enter' Traffic Signs(which should be lootable ), etc. I'm fine with the theme being 21st century apocalypse or I'm fine with it being many years in the future, but only one or the other. Mixing these themes is going to cause major tone problems. Also, another thing that sticks out to me is we have an island with 2-3 radtowns that at one point were clearly used by civilization, but theres nothing else. No roads to connect the radtowns. So these cars just drove on the grass? I'm aware you're focusing gameplay first, which I'm grateful for, I'm just providing some food for thought. I'm sorry to provide these slightly negative points about something as positive as Radtowns coming to the main branch, aside from these small issues I'm very happy the progress is here!

tl;dr2: Adding very urbanized landmarks to an otherwise very rural environment is a bit of a clash.

Still going to be an awesome update regardless! Thanks guys!

    I beg to differ.

That kid found four shotties, a semi-automatic rifle and 15000 rounds.

Maybe metal detectors could be added to the game to find old hidden IRA weapons caches?

Ha that is frickin awesome! Damn that kid had to exist to foil my points about balance and survival gameplay.

Awesome, bizarre story aside, I agree. I think the introduction of high-tiered weapons early on leads to some imbalances, especially if you can research them.

well, i could picture the rad towns being given spawn behaviours that make them spawn closer to each other, and have roads from one to another (broken, incomplete roads, but hints about where the next is). also it would be nice to see more rad towns than just the 3.(i figure more in the works, but yeah;))

on a similar topic, i think the rads in these towns needs a little nerfing, or rad protection applied to clothing. at the moment, i can't last more than 20 seconds before dying, not really enough time to explore, and definately a reason to simply avoid those loot drops.

as for high tier weapons, i didn't find one in 4 hours of barrel looting, and a few attempts at looting the small/depot rad site. apparently they only come from airdrops? either way, i agree they should be hard as hell to find, and bps possibly even harder.

i'd still love the idea of finding gear, and breaking it down to research it over blueprints. you'd only receive some basic resources as a return, not enough to immediately remake it.

What suggests that it's many years in the future? I've always thought of it as being set after an apocalyptic event in current times, (21st century), and we were all the survivors? Rusty cars, traffic cones, wooden pallets, and 'Do Not Enter' signs would all fit in perfectly with this. I know there was some talk of futuristic "caretaker" robots, but I thought this was all just exploratory concept art. Everything currently in-game suggests a current day post-apocalyptic scenario.

I think roads are planned, or at least being talked about. I have heard talk of procedural roads, (which Rad Towns can presumably spawn along), and also talk of naturally occurring roads based on foot-traffic, so that the paths that users take most frequently naturally evolve into roads. I very much like this idea...

That's only a 5 min drive on the M60 for me. Like i am surprised, It's Manchester and only a cocks stride from Cheetham hill.

I like the idea of roads / paths being generated by foot fall,

Yep. Notice I never said there IS a tone problem, but there COULD be. If you check the concept art section of trello you'll see lots of stuff that would look very out of place in the 21st century theme. Personally tho, I like the 21st century look better than the future look.
