I purchased an experimental Rust server from Multiplay on Wednesday 31st. It worked till Friday morning and has been unreachable since then.
They say they are having problems with the update, with one reply to a ticket I created, blaming it on a co-worker who tried updating it. Nice bit of inter office bickering going on I think.
Do not recommend this company.

i similarly have been having many issues this weekend after the update with multiplay.
Let me tell you they are ALWAYS a day late with the updates. i sent a support ticket they said the issue was resolved. it was not. still said incomatible version. i took 24 hours to receive a reply from them as to why. they said it was a map issues and it has now been resoved. IT WAS NOT AGAIN and i am still awaiting them to fix it.
My server has now been down since the update 30 hours or so.
Will not be renwing my service with them after this fiasco.
Can anyone suggest a good GSP thats on the ball?
P.S can you pm me your multiplay name so i can view this ticket you speak of. i would pm you but have no idea how to XD

Well, the line from the ticket said :-
"It appears that one of our team incorrectly updated rust. I am currently in the process of fixing this."
I've replied to the ticket asking whats going on but no one has bothered to respond. I think I will be looking for a new server host aswell.
On a side note, I paid via paypal. Maybe I log a dispute and get my money back.

That is indeed my course of action too.
I totally expected more from such a large well known company.

Just a FYI, I now have a server over at Gameservers.com. All is good in the world once again!

Just got an email from Multiplay, they will refund the money! Hey ho.
