So Rust's last update extended night time significantly and I believe extended daytime as well.

I know that's more realistic, and some people do like to play at night including me but the problem is people boosting their computer gamma and screen gamma and basically having night vision.

I'm not sure how facepunch could fix this problem, but until they can, I think night time should be shortened as it was previously.

Wonder if they could make daytime blinding to boosted gamma as a trade-off.

Yeah something like that, or incorporate some overlay that when your gamma is too high during night time your screen becomes almost white or choppy

Ahh, yes. That does suck. I enjoy playing at night but I can't stand the gamma exploit. If it can't be eliminated then there's almost no point in it getting really dark.

The only way to prevent people tweaking their gamma is to have total darkness during the night. I think there should be a period during the night where it becomes totally dark and the rest of the night should be well lit so that it doesn't matter wheter you use gamma or not.

Even better, make all pixels darker than a threshold completely black.

This is why i live in North at the snow, because no matter how dark it gets i can still see due to the snow being white, makes it easier to hunt and gather resources at night.

Gamma doesn't work correctly in the new version, just like in Arma.

    Just get use to it.
