So I know a lot of the admins have been busy making some sweet maps for the many different seeds out there. I thought I would start a post so people could post up their seed information including maps made so people can see what different seeds look like and/or use the maps. I'll post mine further down!

As for making a map, I know many use mods to teleport up and get the snaps they need. For this one I didn't use mods or teleport to get the snapshot I needed. I ran up my dev server @ home without -batchmode which can give you a great top down view of the map, handy if using mods are not an option. The snapshot is a bit rough around the edges so needs a bit of touching up in your editing program of choice. Mine is still a work in progress but it is good enough for my guys to use till I have more time to tweak it.

So yea, if you have a nice seed and a map to go with it that you are happy to share, please post it here! Hope someone finds mine useful.

    Map Seed: 6969
    Map Size: 5000

    Comments:
Pretty good all in all. Size could be slightly larger than 5k but it suits a low pop server nicely. Desert biome seems fairly large in comparison to the others. Ringed by snowy mountains in the north. A cave near the drop point. Also seems to have a lowish water table (in the map the water that cuts through the middle is quite low so there is more shoreline than water).

    Rating: 7/10

    Map (Updated 2.0):

Hahaha Thats awesome mate, would be good if we could do that for every seed/map, an encyclopedia of maps or something like that. Hell of a job though.

Well hopefully more admins will chuck any maps they make up in this post, then we could have an encyclopedia of sorts.

Just wiped this morning and noted that while the landmass seems to remain if you wipe on a fixed seed that entity placements are different, not bu a great deal but enough to notice, meaning that for in depth maps you'd need to update it constantly in order to keep it precise.

Dont really have maps but have a few aerial shots and a few screenshots of the nicest map I've seen so far on my server at least. I change seeds every time we have to wipe but I may stick with this one for a while. Server seed is 5150 using thee 6000 size setting.

The last two sizes are similar. You can see the West has been compressed and expanded to the East.

This is exactly how everyone should post their seed maps, then we could start a Map Seed Collection Library. Good post Kulan. How did you do this btw? i wouldn't mind giving it a shot to find a map seed i like.

Some nice map seeds in here now guys, this is excellent. I really like the idea of that Oxide map exporter, does a fine job indeed!

As for us we are still on the old faithful 6969 @ 6k for now lol. I'll get some new maps up when we move to a new seed.

    Keep em coming!

that exporter makes map making easy LOVE it, going to run a few seeds over next couple of days see which are best, also see if there is any correlation between seed number and landmass, mountains, sand, forests and Water etc.
