..And this might not follow the direction of Rust at all...but sounded sweet to me. Anyways on to the idea, we have these sweet open barren deserts. Wouldn't it be sweet to have a "boss" mob out there that was a Dune like sandworm? popin up out of the ground eating shit?

It could be killed by 3-5 people, and drop something sweet. like...worm scales that make scale armor or something.. anyways..

    thoughts? stupid? sweet? :D

I like the idea. You could hear the rumbling from which direction it was coming from towards you under the sand.

Personally I love the idea of more PvE challenges encouraging people to team up rather than KoS strangers.

I was thinking more in the direction of cave-creatures. You'd actually make a very conscious decision of entering that cave :D

It's really unfortunate that our imaginations aren't limited by the same things that computer games and development teams are.

Fair point, BUT nothing I mentioned is even close to "out of the range of possibilities".

A sandworm could work on the same skeletal system they are using now, him "popping out of the ground" would be his model coming through the ground mesh, nothing fancy...a few animations and some damage balance.. no big deal. :D

As someone who's been playing video games for 35 years, I have found as time goes on, development teams and computer games more and more show me that my imagination is what is limited, not the other way around. Minecraft is a great example.

Cool! Another thing where I can camp the people that fight the monster then shoot them and take their stuff and what the monster dropped.

No, no, no! Rust should not be about weird boss mobs around the map. Rust is about surviving from regular animals and deceitful humans, not some magical 20 foot tall serpent that shoots fireballs. If you want to fight those then go play World of Warcraft.
