    Hey everyone,

I'm sure we were all surprised and somewhat delighted to hear that the update finally dropped for Rust today. Personally, I was stoked as shit to see the update downloaded overnight, but was then dismayed when my game would not launch due to an unknown error. After doing practically everything to get it working, I nearly gave up, but then I finally got the game to work! HUZZAH! As soon as I jumped in I noticed a lot of changes, but then... I saw the true nature of the update. The undying chicken MP3s littered my eardrums, the pain and frustration of a now even more unstable game was alive and well, and many more features that were the main idea behind this update fell through. The animal animations are laggy as hell, the frustration of the fanbase may grow to an all time high, and we don't even know what to do about it as that fan base. In summary, I fell as though the update shouldn't have dropped the update the way it did. The server I frequent is now even more unstable than before. I know the game is in Alpha, and I understand that the development process is a cuel and harsh mistress, but if the update was not ready, why release it?

Please post below with your comments on the new update, whether good or bad, for we signed onto this game as testers, so why not actually show our results for a change?

Hit box and hit detection seem to be off again. Animals nearly impossible to catch, wolves and bears waaaaaayyyyyyyy too strong. And more stones, less metal please. Also, spear is way too slow now.

If you head over to Rust installation in Steam: path to Steam/SteamApps/Common/Rust/cfg
then you find a file called client.cfg

In client you can tweek a little. And what you can do here to fix the volume is to set/drop audio.musicvolume "-50" it will kill the music, but not the sound. Experiment a little with the volume if you like the tune in the menu.

Hope this will work for you.

Honestly, I am glad they aired it because now they can fine-tune and create stuff at a faster pace. Gotta love Beta.

Edit: Also Poll options are one-sided.

That might be good, but the server keep crashing so what's the point. All cosmetic stuff that have no bearing on the basic functionality of the game.

    hilarious, would read again.

i voted "no" because every build is like this. they push out a semi-broken version with new things to satisfy the impatient bastards, and we test the hell out of it so they know what needs fixing, what works and what doesn't. they absorb our feedback, add patches throughout the week as they work on the next weeks update, and we repeat until (eventually) we have a stable version.

I voted no, because it was working better than what we had before, and ready for deployment, Nobody could foresee the mass drops... until it was actually released to stable and put on servers with large populations. SUre there were bugs, things like rocks and animals, but nothing obviously gamebreaking.

I haven't gotten on the last couple days, but the regression associated with this drop seems much higher than usual. Server crashing and a lot of previously working basic mechanics broken.

yeah admittedly the old mechanics seem to be taking a beating from any changes at the moment.
