Some concept pics you may have already seen on Rusts Trello, I like the Rad wolves, though i hope they make them much bigger than a normal wolf. Maybe twice the height and size? maybe some Rad Chickens too?

A nice desert themed Rad Town.

I love all their concept work and especially love the frozen freighter. It adds a certain mystique to the game world.

Better than the temporary red animals in legacy. Lets also try making rad dogs.

The cargo ship would also be good. What about it being a radioactive-stuff carrier? :P

Yes Love It Cargo ships Rule(have said so in many old posts),
I just hope they get the scale of it right,
loved the concept artwork for the lighthouse but now it's in game it's a bit underwhelming, even the most basic built player structure make it look like it's from a miniature village exhibit in Cornwall, I know ever building can't be a monster monolith or structure but a light house i am sure should be bigger. like the one that was in Pete's Dragon.

I think it makes sense to make Rad Animals larger than the normal size animals. If normal bears are big now imagine how much bigger the Rad bears could be especially if they one day get the bears to stand on their back legs.

What if you could eat the meat and its radioactive ingredients would eventually have an effect on your own body creating mutation?

Found this on the net, its not a Rust concept but i imagine that's what the Mutant Bears would look like.

They dropped loot because they were a contrived, artificial, and 'temporary' replacement for zombies, which dropped loot, and they never added a new loot vehicle to fill the role of 'wandering, aggressive loot dropper'.

A mutant Kangaroo would be cool, especially if you could tame it as a mount to ride around on, mutant Koalas that drop from trees, needle shooting mutant Echidna's, Platypus' the size of crocodiles....maybe we need an Australian Biome for Rust?.
I'd prefer the mutant Kangaroo to look less like a Rat and more like the Mega-Fauna Kangaroo of the Australian Prehistoric age, that thing was a beast.

well, technically yes, but i think it would be easy enough to explain that as stuff found in the giant mutant animals stomach from its previous victims. that's how i always saw it anyway.

big motherf*cking rad bears can swallow a m4 in a single mouthful if they damn well like, its just that their character model was accidentally downed to normal bear size:P

i know they are placeholders of sorts, but i always pictured them being updated some day to bear sized rad wolves, and tank sized rad bears;D

Of course rad animals would be bigger. They're mutants. Everybody knows mutants are hideous and have uncontrollable growth rates. Personally, I'd love to see mutated, scary as f*ck animals prowling around the rad zones. As well as being bigger, they should be able to eat exponentially more bullets than normal animals. Most in-game animals now are p*ssies when it comes to durability. So a rad bear can take a bolt action round to the face, rip half his head off, and he's still comin' at you bro! Best to be quick with the reload!

Maybe if their eating was similar to the mutant chickens way of eating(or at least how I imagine they eat). Make all the mutants into giant hollow mouths in the shape of animals, say they have venom that paralyzes you after enough is injected, then try to eat you whole/take as big a bite as possible and digest it elsewhere.

The reason I include the venom is because it would allow them to hit you and "take away" health without tearing you and your equipment to shreds. Then carry your items around(digested over time). If killed, they would drop what is undigested, and a bit of random loot.

Looking at these concepts gives me more and more metro 2033 feeling... Dont you want black ones? XD

I thought it as a joke, but there may be something similar, a semi-intelligent, enderman-like lifeform giving loot he found. Threat, and prize for killing solved!

You know what I think would be even cooler than paralyzing venom? Venom that makes you have a heart attack. It would do little damage with each hit, but your screen would start to beat to the beat of your increasingly quickening hearbeat pounding louder and louder into your ears. Get 5 injections in short time, you die as your heart explodes in your chest.

Wonder if it will be doable when Garry finally adds a system for allowing status modifiers to effect your screen. I'll be quite about this till he finally adds things like shivering when cold.

I think it makes logical sense to add status effects especially in a game like Rust i don't see why they wouldn't do it, though its not important yet, i reckon they will add them, after all they added head bob and just about every one hates that, will they hate the shivering too?

I like the idea of venom this would give us a reason to harvest the bushes for herbs and plants to create herbal remedies that counteract the venom, would be good to have poisonous snakes in game too maybe big mutant anaconda's that swallow people and wont disappoint us like the anaconda man.

The other reason I like venom is it gives the ability to farm certain animals while being in danger, without losing health. Like I imagine going around hunting those mutant chickens. You could go around breaking their necks 1 on 1 with your bear hands, but if 3-5 start going after you, you had best haul ass because 1 wrong move and you just took 5 doses of venom in a second. Yet at the end of the day, you dont have to go patch yourself up after hunting venomous animals even though you almost died.

.I think some plant alchemy would be interesting. If I had to design some venom related uses, I would make a tonic that increases the amount of venom injections you can take at a time, and maybe an antidote that can only be taken when you get a lethal dose of venom. I imagine due to debilitating effects(slowing after lethal injection) the user would have to have killed all chickens around him in order to have to time to administer their antidote.(basically you can't use it while the chickens are alive and attacking)

You may be onto something with that mutation idea. Maybe a subclass of weaponry could be advancing your mutations like bioshock or some someshit. Anyway + 1 for creativity
