Just been going through the server list and some servers are saying the maps are being wiped evey 4 month ^^ Am I missing something here? I've been having map wipes after most updates so.. My question is
Is there a way to protect the server from being wiped? or are server owners telling porkies in their server names? lol
Thanks for reading.

A bit - In most cases a wipe is forced whenever a new update comes out that is significant enough to render the old saves incompatible, hence a wipe.
This has been happening quite a bit and no way to avoid it - if you hold off applying your server updates, whenever the game client is also updated if servers are still on an older version they will no longer stay in the list.
Once that settles down there should be no need to do a wipe

Thanks for the answer. I was just thinking I was missing something lol. Least I know just to play alone until the updates are more map stable.

Yeah I have been telling a lot of my guys not to get too attached to bases and gear until things settle down a bit more. Not quite there yet unfortunately, but getting there!
Its a real shame when they build something epic only to find it gone the next day from an update but if it means progress towards baseline and shit I am all for it :D

Not a problem! and no, not doing anything wrong, as long as your server is saving and you are using the -load argument in your command line, if you bring the server back online following a recent update and its empty, thats when you know that the new server version brought down in the update has rendered your old saves incompatible - that's how you will know.

Yes it has been quite concentrated the last month or two but seems to have settled down greatly in the last few weeks!
