Blue prints, take them all away... I would like to see the return of the fun from starting at the bottom and fighting to survive your way to the top. Seems strange that we all spawn naked with a rock as master craftsmen. We run around harvesting and building things. We are the Warcraft Peon. LoL.

Seriously. Basic Rust. Starting lame, becoming awesome. Starting a small group, maybe someone is awesome at making armor while someone else is awesome at making metal bases... but no one is awesome at everything without working at it. When you spawn currently in game, the only thing stopping you is resource gathering.

Paper + Item + The Materials to build the "Item" = Blueprint. So if you find a Bolt in a Loot Crate, and find all the resources the Bolt is made from, you can make a blueprint and remember how to continuously make a bolt.

Or, you can get lucky and just find the Bolt Blueprint in Loot Crate.

Or, Your buddy can give you all you need to make a blueprint he already owns.

Just like that things start happening and things get competitive. It becomes PvP to Survive instead of Warcraft Peon Simulation.

    And... ... ...

I LOVE THIS GAME!!! GREAT JOB GARRY!!! GREAT JOB RUST TEAM!!! (no one ever says that, we all just bitch and complain on the internet.) BUT I MUST SAY, THIS IS THE BEST SURVIVAL EVER IN LEGACY, THE NEW RUST HAS POTENTIAL TO BE BETTER!!! GREAT JOB!!!

i agree with this, but i think the things we can make by default will be reduced when blueprints are put in. for now, it's just to let us test out everything.

i keep bringing it up, but i'd really like blueprints to be manuals instead, and not learnt forever but usable while they are in your inventory. that way, players can trade, steal, hoard them. i picture library forts, with a treasure room full of manuals, a furnace and a few workbenches;)

LOVE the idea of spawning with only the ability to craft only the most basic tools needed to survive, and needing to find, (trade or steal), blueprints to build the rest. Also, love the idea of building up your own private collection of blueprints, like a personal library!

You want a Warcraft peon simulator, go play life is feudal.

Garry's working on a loot distribution system, we have to leave the "know all recipes" mechanic untill he pushes it out.

    Edited:
I think it would be interesting if there were blueprints and manuals. Manuals(rare) could be read and kept. Then you could shove it into a workbench(or a cool advanced workbench with a bookshelf on top) for bonus durability and/or craft time(whichever is applicable) when creating that item. Also could provide a repair bonus for weapons/tools covered in the manual.

Maybe we could even let you craft manuals out of several blueprints of the same type.

I DON'T want a Peon Simulation. I was being sarcastic. The nothing but resource gathering seems that way at the moment. I am hoping that soon than later it changes. New Rust has been in development for a long time now and loot is a very big need in a game like this. Unless it really is suppose to be just resource gathering simulator. "PvP" is not "PvP" without competition. We are not competing over anything right now. Something as small as basic loot and the need to find blueprints will bring the competition back and force people to explore again.

I hope it comes. It's almost like an Alpha GTA game in development for 9 months without the cars. Yea it's playable, but why not just throw in a few basic cars in there lol.

I agree whole heartedly. Im really enjoying watching the game being built. And I think it will be WAY better than legacy when it is done.

Yes, this game will be AWESOME!!! I can't wait for it to be closer to completion. My whole post is just a guy who has waited from the beginning and has actually done nothing but gather resources EVERY SINGLE BUILD. LoL. I love this game, but I am starting to get bored without the competition. Findable loot and not being able to craft everything at spawn is the easy way to bring back the Rust to Rust.

But I do love this game, and I will continue to caress the trees, and rub on those ores, and cuddle with my resource storage bin *errr I mean "base" until this happens.
