I wanted to give praise to the development team for spending the week refactoring and optimizing....this is exactly what the game needs. Also agree with the devblog... code for the betterment of the game....not the insatiable craving that some people have for week over week of "new stuff."

There is actually more new stuff this week than the average week. Big changes to bows, crafting, boxes, stone spear, bandages, etc. Also major fixes to the most annoying bugs in the current build.

I'd be fine with just a changelog every week/major update.

But is the box still 'occupied' after you put your stuff in it? Do we still need to log out and in if we wanna access the stuff what's inside?

A lot of little bullshit things, including that one, are fixed. Not sure why they want to wait to Monday to push this out.

I am not really that bothered about the DEVBLOG, but i would not like to see trello shut to us, I followed that for a long time (since the inception of Rust Experimental) and it's nice to see some of the stuff Garry and his team are working on,

Most of the DevBlog is information that is available, Mostly from the change log (On twitter) or discussions on here or Reddit.

So yes i agree with Garry and it's probably best NOT working just to impress or appeases the DevBlog readers, But to work for the betterment of the game, But PLEASE PLEASE Garry Don't close trello To us, we don't need Guiding through it, And it does give us something to speculate about and to discuss, and a good idea of your direction,

i agree that the devblog should perhaps just be about what has just been ported/finished, more like a changelog with a bit of feedback from the devs. but i really like crawling through the trello to see what is being worked on, so that covers my curiosity about what new stuff is being made. i hope this stays as it is.

I figured we wouldn't get much besides bug fixes this week. That construction mechanic rework really did a number on things.

The game is still a mile away from what it used to be. It is broken beyond recognition. Its become a chicken shit fest where everyone sits in their base like little girls too scared to go outside. There is no more threat. There are no more POI's. Rather than pushing the experimental on us in a very half complete manner, they should NOT have divided the legacy and experimental community the way they did.

There are less than half the amount of players there are playing rust. Shit I think its almost a quater of what there was. Legacy was a brilliant game, all it needed was refinement. This now is very lackluster and by splitting the community, all you find are servers with 20 players in them too scared to leave their base and new players joining and crafting axes and pickaxes and raiding any base they can find. Its really poor effort. Sure it looks better, but that's where it ends. The building system is worse, the equipment is worse, there are no POI's where you can ambush players or motivate players to leave their base.

They should have ported the old rust map onto the new engine, left everything how it was and worked on the new one in the background.

The building / PvP systems are completely broken and unbalanced. All I see lately, are servers filled with 30-40 people, spending countless hours to build their bases and gathering resources. Only for my group of 4-5 players, to freshly join, build hatchets and relentlessly raid base after base completely ruining and stealing peoples hard work. Two things I think need to happen that may provide a solution to this mess.

    1) Bring back T6 wall (This is a method that may provide people with confidence in having a base when they return, it also offers an avenue for a Slow raiding via a hatchet, still may take 2hours but its still strong)

    2) Bring back C4 that will offer a faster way of raiding. C4 should also be very expensive. (If T6 wall does come back, then C4 will provide motivation for SOLO players to PvP)

Video coming soon to show how easy it is to make the game unfun and completely destroy peoples hard work within hours.

:) I know this is mean, but sometimes, the truth hurts... the PvP needs a serious rethink!

I haven't been playing experimental, at all. I would like to not agree with you but I don't really have a choice.

I find experimental frustrating, not fun and disappointing thus far. Its pretty much unplayable.

Legacy is still a way better game, too bad a fraction of the people who used to play still do.

I don't play rust at all anymore, but I have logged more hours into legacy than almost any other game I have on steam.

I do check the devblogs which is funny because at the end of this weeks log it says

"I feel like we’ve been guilty of working for these devblogs instead of working for the game. This is why working on things like optimization fell by the wayside. Sometimes game development isn’t sexy.

    ...

I guess the bottom line is that the development cycle should be about feeding the game, not feeding the devblog audience."

I am the devblog audience I guess. I liked the initial rust package and got my $20 worth, now just waiting for them to do their thing.
