Post #1Hi! This message is going towards the devs of Rust and all of the community. I liked the censorship system in Rust Legacy alot! I want it back. I know alot of people are against it already but hey, you can have more options right? 1 option is censor just the dick, make the character wear pants, or no censor at all! If you could make an option system with that I would be so happy! I mean, I guess I can play but it wouldn't be as fun cuz seriously I have family and if they see it Im so dead. Im sure 50% hate it and 50% want it. I don't mean to be rude, but I think there is no reason to not make this option avaliable at all. If your read this, thanks! :)

What I think he means is that you need to confront your family. Sit them down - all of them, and simply state... "Mom, Dad, I want to play a game with dicks, so do not judge me if you walk in my room and I am spearing some guys dick off. That man tried to break into my house with a rock." - Problem solved. Your family should understand that the new building system in Rust is very fragile now. A mere penis with a rock can bring bring the house down, so that penis must be speared.
I heard there will be female player models down the road. I would prepare for that intervention with your family right now.

It will not give pants on players, but it at least censor the snake between the legs.

I guess it's good to have the option available, but young kids shouldn't be playing this game anyway. It makes me sad for the human race when a 9 year old chases me around spamming me with obscene and racist language.

You just reminded me of my favourite "censor Rust" guy ever. I liked him so much I bought him a title.
He claims garry won't be allowed to sell Rust at all on the Internet without submitting it to an ESRB-like ratings board and if he didn't federal governments would first create (if they don't have one already like China and Australia) internet blacklists and then put Rust on it.

Man still I think Garry should do it. I mean if you did it on Rust legacy, why the hell would you remove it from the experimental? Lag? People being angry? If its the second option then I don't understand why people would be angry for that crap.

The pants censor on Rust legacy is actually due to a Unity limitation. In short, legacy's sky system is shit and uses up one of the Unity render cameras available to Rust. I believe legacy can only use two render cameras but don't quote me; at any rate they're all in use for other things.
This is a problem when it comes time to applying a mosaic blur effect on dongs: Without a free render camera to use to avoid the problem, the blur effect will not properly occlude through walls. This meant that you could tell when someone was outside your base because the penis blur would show through solid objects. In effect, if you were pantsless, everyone around you had ESPenis hacks enabled by the game itself. So, everyone was put into green pants instead.
The sky system in experimental is a completely different and better-written one by Andre, who was hired by garry and is now one of the coders working on Rust full-time. Andre's sky doesn't need a render camera, and so this means garry's able to keep the blur from showing through walls now and he doesn't have to compromise on his original plan. Legacy originally had the same thing as experimental has now.

Dude. I don't get you people. What is the disadvantage of having the OPTION. Hell, it won't even be a default option! Why can't it just be a side option for those people that don't want to see. I mean srsly why should we be forced to see "The Snakes". Age and male nudity don't matter, just the fact that we can have an option is all Im looking for! No reason to be upset. I mean im not im just weirded out the fact that you guys are like having so much trouble having an option. Or maybe you didn't understand my request. Also do any of the devs of Rust (like Garry or Craig) even look at Facepunch?

I see no problem with an optional censor, some people just feel uncomfortable looking at cocks, it's the same with swear filters.
Although a system where cock size was proportional to how long you were alive before you were killed last, or your kill count would be hilarious, censored or not... Especially kill count.

first point is that there is a censor in game. it's just off by default at the moment. censor.nudity 1 by memory, but it might have changed. the thing is, its a violent game about primitive survival. we can eat each other, and our first killing tool is a rock. so it's hard to beleive that people are squeamish about a cock, but not the other mature content in the game.
as for the dev crew, yeah they frequent the forums, but don't expect them to reply to every thread asking them to "do this", not only would that be detrimental to game development as it would basically be a full time job, they would have to repeat/explain themselves constantly, which would be very emotionally draining.
(take it from the troll king, keeping all you rusty bastards in check is hard work XD)

I used to let my son play on my server, had it set up to be a place where he could build an have fun but he is only 8 so if he sees a naked Rust man, he will likely tell everyone Dad has naked men on his computer.... lol
Different people play Rust different ways, not everyone wants to go around naked bashing heads in with rocks and it should be up to the server admin how he wants the server to be. So a choice would be good in my opinion.

No one is forcing you to look at penises, (or "snakes", if you prefere). In fact, no one is even forcing you to play an 18+ game which clearly states "Warning: Contains violence and caveman themed nudity."
(If someone is forcing you to play, I suggest you contact your local police department).
