Why are there always two users banned on Rust?
My server constantly shows these two users and I cannot remove them.

Are they system-sounding names like SERVER or SERVER CONSOLE?

Are their names Iron Pi and Spike Siegel?
Are you Iron Pi or friends with him?
Because he earned that hardcoded ban.

there are 2 names automatically added to the ban list, these 2 people spammed the first and only experimental server, thus Garry wrote their bans into the code of the rust server files.

They spammed the only experimental server (back when the new version of Rust was called experimental), run by garry himself, for weeks as a way of forcing him to do something about the console exploits that were allowing them to do it. And Iron Pi was proud about it and eagerly bragged about his ban from garry's server.
He was less excited when he was permabanned from Facepunch, but he came back about five more times to keep harrassing us.
Especially when he found out that garry had hardcoded the server to make sure his Steam ID is in the banlist every time it starts up.

lol. thought you could only get banned on Rust for cheating.
didn't know developers could do that.

Developers can do anything, but it's not normally considered appropriate to apply such a wide ban.
Iron Pi bragged about setting up a macro and then walking away from his computer for six hours while he spammed the server global chat into being completely unusable for anyone else who's trying to communicate or test anything. He did this for several weeks.
He earned it.
And that's not something VAC would care about.

ahh, the nostalgia i felt when i saw those names in a thread again.
yeah, iron pi earned it for sure. interestingly enough, though he gloated about not caring if he was banned from experimental "because he has no interest in it", he made a number of alt accounts to beg for clemency when he realized it was not an "experimental" ban, but a personalized "rust" ban.
that said, he was warned repeatedly. if he hadn't have been so proud of spamming the crap out of global chat, i think he would have had a chance to keep playing.

No,And technically yes he was using a program or external app(namely a macro) to corrupt/disrupt game play, he violated the TOS.
But even if he had done it manually he could have been banned. how FacePunch has worded the TOS makes it easy for them to ban arseholes like that.
