Will trees rocks and animals always be limited or is that just temporary?

No, there are plenty of resources, you just have to know where to look. Ore rocks spawn in the south, in the sandy biome. Animals spawn in the forests in the middle grassy biome. If you position yourself on the border between sand and grass, you can head south for ore rocks and north for animals and wood, and you will never be more than 5 mins from all the resources you need.

Say what? There are animals, ore, and trees in every biome I've ever played in.

Nailed it, although I've been keeping quiet about this. Once people know it they'll know to hunt for buildings along that sweet borderline.

I haven't been playing a heck of a lot recently, but what Neil said rang true to me. Every happy place I've found has been on the border between a semi-forest and a desert. Co-incidence maybe, you think?

I don't think so. Perhaps the broken animal movement also affected spawning (or perhaps they roam more than we think?).

I've been playing the Dev branch last week or so and the animals are everywhere you'd expect them: they're not right on the shores, but if there's trees nearby, I've seen animals regardless of biome.

You clearly dont understand what im saying. The point of this post was the fact that i was wondering if the resources respawned or not. Not how much was available and where.

No, I got what you were saying, (it really wasn't that complicated). I thought the answer was implied by my response, (that resources DO respawn, you are just looking in the wrong places).

Say what? There are animals, ore, and trees in every biome I've ever played in.
Yes, there are resources all over the map, but they are way more concentrated in some areas. The snowy biome has almost no animals or ore rocks at all, you can spend 30 mins looking for one, whereas the desert biome has ore rocks everywhere, you cannot fail to find them.

Once you have been playing a bit longer, you will get a feel for the different biomes, and what resources they have...

I found 12 ore rocks in the first 5 minutes of spawning in the snowy biome on the Dev branch; there are several more further away that I haven't bothered to go after yet because I don't need them.

They must have changed this in the latest release, this has not been the case for the last few weeks. I am playing the public branch, so I haven't seen the changes that were released on Friday yet, I can only comment on how it was up until then.
