Has anyone else noticed the maps of late are a bit bland? Decor rocks (table rocks, nooks/crannies) were removed a few updates back, height map has been adjusted so there are no more epic mountains. The maps now look like rolling gentle hills covered in grass, interspersed with patches of trees and forest. Same with the desert. Sand covered gentle hills, areas of brown grass and the occasional oasis.

I miss the maps from a few versions back.

There are still plenty of big mountain ranges. Either its a bad seed for mountains on the server you are playing on, or you haven't explored that much. Most of the "table rocks" have been taken out a few patches ago. The massive amounts of rocks were only really a test. Everything is still very much WIP with world generation.

I have been on several servers today. I build a level 6 home and get bored since I don't see the thrill or need to raid. I then move to another server to explore the maps.

I haven't seen one server out of the 3 I have been on today with epic pointy mountains. I really miss "hidey holes" that the abundance of decorative rocks provided, along with the hilarity of getting stuck while exploring.

I totally agree. there is a spot on rust island 2013 that I have unwittingly gotten stuck in at least 4 times. yes same spot , on the far side of portugal mnt.

Getting stuck just gives me another challenge, to get unstuck. The exploration is the cause of getting stuck, and I like to explore, although I haven't gotten stuck since the jump dampening update.

I miss the varied terrain. It all seems so uniform now with no decoration other than the forests, which are looking great.

I find as the servers get closer to fridays and the weekly wipe that i enjoy seeing all of the man made scenery. Most of the time its 2x2 lvl 6 hide outs but evey now and then theres something unique to see
