    Hi,

A major down fall in Rust at the moment is the fact that raiders, or just people that want to troll, can quite easily build another wall in front of your front door, trapping you inside your own level 6 base. I think a good way for developers to stop this is maybe set permissions so that only the person who has laid down the foundation can build on it. It should also have an option that you can let other trusted players build on your own foundations as well.

The base is 3 layers in, make sure you sleep/exit in the middle room. There is a big upstairs but not as secure. Main thing to have is the front door as it is practically untrollable. They can build triangle floor plans ontop of the front door but you can still get in and out, just abit harder. But hopefully they won't do that. Make sure you secure with keylocks, although they are alittle bit buggy as of now. Oh, and the base has traps to trap raiders inside lvl 6 walls, only you can escape through the code locked door!

Lastly, this just proves my point in my other post: http://facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=1435921
How the game is messed up in how, do not waste your time building amazing castles/tree houses/using your imagination. Build this base, and only this base if you don't want to be trolled. The game has problems that I am sure will be fixed.

Anyway, as of now, this is my design to stop people building these troll walls infront of your front door.

Cupboards are only proposed, not implemented yet.
personally I might sleep in the center portion, but I would keep all my best loot spread out into the four corners of the second layer because those are almost certainly not going to be breached except by a very thorough raider

Nice. I have my own methods for ANti-griefing/trolling. what plugin are you using on the server?

Sorry not too sure of the plugin, just joined a random Modded server to make the base quickly.

You do realize you can build a ladder in the middle of a square foundation then destroy the foundation leaving only a floating ladder right? That ladder will prevent any walls to be placed cause of collision and it also prevents any new foundations to be created near it after you destroy the original foundation. Just one row around your base should be enough but you can make two rows and don't forget to add rows on your roof...it kinda will look stylish too.

when people were wall glitching i would set up traps for them by building the layer inside of the outer walls with walls a couple feet apart from the outer wall so they would get stuck inbetween the two walls when they glitched in, and they could not glitch further in or back out because I would break the foundations under the walls (&lv6 the trap walls, of course). Even with the exploits and bullshit that comes with the various updates to rust, I enjoy discovering tactics like these =)

if that door is the only exit then all i have to do is put a lvl 6 floor/triangle above the door, trapping you in your own building.

Interesting idea with the layer of doors. Had no idea what they were for until I made a similar base .

Personally, I like to have something like this as my storage/spawn point and build a multi-exit facility connected to that one greifable triangle to help prevent this.

You can just crouch-jump over the railing with a floor triangle above

Hmmm. Will have to try it. I was sure the last update earlier in the week eliminated the railing/ceiling jump glitch. Maybe it's specific to triangular foundations

Very impressive... I have a question...

Why did you put 20 doors around your perimeter wall, all leading to the outside zig-zag bit? Is that so that you can store loot in them, like cupboards? Or is it as traps fro raiders? I don't really understand that part... would it not be more secure if 19 of those doors were just lvl6 walls? Also, do we need to create locks and keys for all these 20 doors, or just the 3 leading to the center cube?

Perhaps you could just give a little explanation of how the perimeter walls, doors, etc work, and which bits you can access / store loot in?

Great job though, I am interested in trying to replicate it...

So, the reason I would make those doors is, most of the time you don't have enough resources to finish upgrading your house on the spot. Now there are some spots on the building that you can not upgrade later on due to the multiple layers of wall blocking access. In this situation I would upgrade the hell out of the foundations that I will lose access to and then make the whole framework for the base. With his doors like this, he can finish upgrading the outside and inner wall(which he would lose access to as he gets more resources.

Also yea closets. Had not thought of that.

But if you look at the photos, the builder has upgraded each wall to lvl6 as soon as he builds it, and has already upgraded all of these walls by the time the doors are on, so I don't think that can be the reason.

It would be nice to hear from the OP again ... as I can't see the point behind those doors, other than a massive drain on resources, to build 20 extra doors and locks. I'm sure there is a better reason though...
