Glad you sorted it out :)
Glad you sorted it out :)
Would be nice way to see which is exactly the bad person using that fakepop bug, is there a way to contact you?
Please, remove my server from a black list: 46.174.50.89:28051
If you played fair in the first place it wouldn't be blacklisted.
you have 2 posts on an account created this month, and both posts are identical. can i suggest you make a new thread explaining why your ip should be unbanned?
currently the team are on the warpath for fake servers that forward traffic to a main server, or that fake their population. there seems to be some collateral damage thus far, but honestly your post sounds more like "WHY I AM VAC BANNED FOR MY HAX?!" than "um, guys, you got the wrong server, can you review?". no guarantee they will unban you for any reason...they literally said as much in the devblog, but better chance then none.
Just a question:
So Kid A is angry of the heavily populated server of Person B , all A has to do is creating some fake servers and forwarding them to the server of B , now the server from B and the fake servers got blacklisted, kid A is happy and B is crying.
Why im aware of that this is possible ? One of my servers was exactly banned for that reason, i got a reply from garry, that a fake server was forwarded to one of my servers, but not anymore, so the blacklist of my server was lifted.
Edit:
Yes, i know these people wondering about vac hacks, i knew one who thought he gonna try out how good the anti cheat on his own server is, hacking a bit, woops, vac banned.![]()
Only blocked address:port or fully address if noticed that one of the servers, with this address, there is a mirror?
not really a question lol. sucks that it happened, though i'm glad they could help you out:)
thing is they have to be somewhat cutthroat about it with all the potential sob stories about "why my server is the victim of foul play" or "i never cheated in my life, its a false VAC". if you or they can prove that you are not to blame, i'm sure they will help you out, but otherwise...yeah.
can you clarify what you mean?
If the server address will 2.2.2.2:28888 mirror, then gets blacklisted 2.2.2.2:28888 or 2.2.2.2?
depends. they have said that initially it will be the ip, then the whole subnet depending on the problem behaviour.
it seems my server is blacklisted :(
Do not create mirror
My server has not broken any rules

Where to write with a request to remove the lock from IP?
yes were do you write a request ? my ip is 71.14.9.242:28018
only thing ive done to it is install oxide 2 and our community members can't even find it.
Май арена - сасай =)
ip range is probably banned
179.60.149.222
179.60.149.139
179.60.149.25
were fake servers, so it possible that they banned all the range from
179.60.149.*
personally i'd either submit a bug report, or write it here. as reneb said, you probably got hit by the range getting banned.
BTW, FP is blacklisting the ENTIRE IP RANGE if multiple spoofed servers are found.
I really would like to see a linux server released so I could boot it on on a digital ocean server and get simple hosting terms.
Best thing garry would do on this banlist was first banning ports, as he mentioned in his blog, but he started with banning ips, so it's hard to find out which exact server was the fake pop, if you have multiple servers on that ip.
My suggestion would be first port banning, then you see as a gsp a single guy complaining his server is not listed, and then you know, that guy is the bad one which was using fake pop.
But currently, checking on different rust lists and not finding any fake population on any server of my blocked ips.
So i think there are many blacklistings caused by this server forwarding which happened 2 weeks ago ( friday to saturday ) due a bug => exploit in rust coding.
Edit:
I had also a complete ip range blacklisted caused by one ip which had a server where other servers where forwarded to, if that's the point of blacklisting from FP, then soon, there will be a list of around 6 servers i guess, the Official servers only, somewhen ipswitching, provider switching gets too stupid, and then, R.I.P. Rust.
Well i dont know if it's the Logic of Gary or not, but having 0 fake servers = better service!
There are currently 2 players for 1 server, which is ridiculously huge, so éven if he blacklists à lot of IP, there would still be à lot of servers, so yeah some people would get fucked and won't be able to host servers, but who cares exept the owner of the server? Players are still winning by having à clean server list.
You say that now, but what happens later on when a server you've dedicated most of your time to building up a base and such gets blacklisted because some jerk in Russia decides to point a fake player server toward your legitimate one, causing it to be banned? This system is flawed in the end. Everyone will lose, including Rust.
I jsut want to knwo when they are goign to implement this on legacy liek they said they would.
please explain what is a fake pop and what is redirecting.
they are taking me off the black list however these to things were mentioned.
is this something one of my server admins can do?
It's not like they are stupid enough to blacklist all ip ranges :X
Their system isn't perfect, but at least now it's à pleasure to actually see the real servers.
Few collatéral damage, but way more to win.
yeah there is some collateral damage, if that fake pop isn't caused by commands ingame but by configurations then i had found some. There was a server with 2 guys stuck for like 3 months, blacklisted dough, but after rebooting that server the 2 players never popped up again, like some bad disconnected clients.
problem is, without blacklisting them...how do they stop forwarding/ pop faking servers? it sucks that there is collateral damage, but its more efficient to deal with "please unban my server" requests than to check out every ip for validity.
and again, regardless of the laws that suggest otherwise, i think the GSPs should be taking more responsibility in regards to how their services are being used. facepunch has no reason to waste more resources on this than required to blacklist everyone remotely suspicious, but it is in the GSPs best interests to get involved.
i've updated rustserverlist.net to let you see offline servers , this way you can look at Range IPs to see if fake servers were associated to them.
I wrote a PM to garry on 5. november about my ip, but haven't got any respond yet. I don't run any fake servers, cheat servers or what ever. I hope he is watching this thread, and hopefully remove my IP from the blacklist.
i'm sure he is drowning in PMs at the moment. give him time:)
I have the same problem -- Multiplay servers is telling me that pretty much all their servers got blacklisted -- mine hasn't been in the browser for a week and I run a small 40 player server with at the most 10 players in it. I have no clue why my server would be blacklisted or why Facepunch would blacklist a provider like Multiplays entire server IP's for Rust. I am really pissed as I paid for three months for a server I can't even use and don't understand why it would be blacklisted as we were running vanilla Rust only with no mods. What's worse is with all the updates and issues the server has been offline more than it's been online. Love the thanks we get for helping to test Experimental servers.
where can we post to get our server off the blacklist?
The issue here is that all servers are blacklisted for no reason...
I know Revolt Servers also have two of their primary IPs Blacklisted.
Let's hope there is a fix soon!
well, i'm sure there IS a reason, but it may not apply to every IP banned. as for revolt, that might be another issue.
I mean if this is the way it's going to stand then there's honestly no reason to host a server. I've given up in trying to get my server ip taken off the blacklist. Here's to hoping no one else gets a fake server pointed toward their own server...
If your Server Name was copied by bearzru then your server ip was banned also.
Not at all.
Revolt has two of their IPs black listed. Their others are working just fine.
I just wish Facepunch can actually tell us what is going on.
ye and i was lucky enough to get one of the two black listed when i purchased server on saturday.
revolt have asked garry to sort this but seems its fallen on deaf ears.
the strange thing was when i checked my ip in the rust data base no where did it say i was black listed it even said ip was legit ??
Unban Survival Instinct, pls =)
