    Hello fellow nude cavemen!

Maybe I missed it but I never read a statement about the solution to the issue with "walls on walls" without adding a floorpart to one of the sides.

If you want to build a 1x1 or 2x2 building with stairs you can not place a complete floor for your 1. floor (or 2. floor if 1. floor means "ground floor" for you) since you need a gap to place the stairs. The workaround would be to place floorparts outside to trick the game and then remove them as soon as the walls are placed. But on one hand this is retarded and on the other it feels like exploiting the game mechanics. And maybe the devs will add that parts are destroyed when the ones bellow are gone some day so that might not work indefinitely.

I don't know if "no walls on walls" is intentional to prevent big walls (actually I would really like to build those without having to put in a floor EVERYWHERE) or if it is just a consequence of the games design.

If it were intentional I would like to suggest a floor part that like the door way either has a gap or a hatch. It would tell the game "hey look there is a floor now I can place a wall" and a hatch would be another barrier for intruders.

or maybe the client hasn't updated either, the normal non-beta-experimental steam client only updates a few times every day and the beta-experimental one updates with every change they add.

previously the solution was to use a floor frame to trigger the ability to build the next wall layer. like this:

    I_
    I

then break the floor frame to only leave the 2 wall layers.

but if this has been sorted, it will make things much simpler;)

You can now place a wall frame on a finished wall, but you can't place it on another fall frame. You have to finish building the lower wall first!
