    Well the spear which was done last week I reworked. I wasn't happy with the old stone spear so I did a new high poly, which needed a new game mesh, new uv's and of course a new texture.

    All the spears are LOD'ed and ready to go ingame too. Then I moved onto something else that isn't ready to be shown yet.

    Hope that shows more light on what I did that week.
    Keep up the good work, man. People will always complain, it's like that in all alpha games right now, but there's one different thing about Rust. I see lots of passion on Rust players and a desire for updates more than all other current alpha games. That's because people simply love Rust, I guess, and we see the high potetial of this game.

    Anyway, I just want to say that I get very happy everytime a member from Facepunch say something here. It doesn't really need to be a wall of text or so. Something like you did is enough to get me happy.

    As I said, keep up the good work.

    A private server at rust (Lan/Hamachi) would look awesome, so when I want to create a server to battle with my friends, test some plugins & etc I would use this, and for free! (yea if you want to do this now you have to pay)

    I'm very impressed that the developers not only read the forums but also comment on them, in this particular case, when they do not need to justify their work ethic or what is performed on a daily / weekly basis. I understand people really want Rust to go faster / finisher faster, I too can't wait to see more and I am a bit addicted to the game right now when no other game really was keeping my attention much. Thank you for your hard work and dedication and even the responses in forums that I get to read while smelting ore at night in Rust :)

    Must say i am loving the way the new stuff is looking. but i wanted to put in an idea if it already hasn't been spoken of, a lantern. something small that u can use to gather at night or light up ur room.

    Would be nice to place a live chicken in there. Along with dealing damage on impact, it will also give you a cover of feathers flying around, alowing for your escape after the shot.

    Can't wait for something like an M21 to be implemented. The bolt action is good, but the holographic or even iron sights lets it down. We need smaller optics for the pistol too :P
    I think I'd prefer a VSS Vintorez. The wooden stock seems to fit Rust better, and it's less of a tactical weapon.

    Hey I just wanted to inform /ask you guys about a certain issue that has been popping up a little. it seems whenever I try to fall asleep in like a bush, I end up finding myself getting killed(its a sleeper server). I am pretty sure it happens because of an issue with grass loading where some people may not have their grass loaded in but have the sleepers loaded in before the grass does, causing them to of course kill my body. I was wondering if this was intentional or is it just an issue you guys haven't touched on?

    Do you mean in experimental or legacy? In legacy most people turn off their grass because they're worried about having some sort of disadvantage. In experimental grass isn't an option, it's always there so this sort of thing will likely be at least slightly more successful.

    Wow, I haven't kept much tabs on Rust since like many months back. Looks like it's starting to take a nice shape. That menu is fancy.

    Today when I logged on the experimental branch, I had a bug. After about 20 seconds after spawning, the server menu would pop up and I would see a starry sky. Pressing escape left me with access to in game inventory menu and my belt menu. When I would look down there were these two purple balls with a curved line connecting them. I had to exit the game, as it would not let me disconnect. Happened 5x's. Just a heads up.

    Hi, I just registered here to politely let the developers know that the first menu ( the one with the Bear ) is slow and sometimes not responsive to the first click. I have a i5-3210M CPU @ 2.50Ghz and 6 GB RAM. My Graphics card has 2GB of Memory. While this is in no way a real gaming rig, it should load a simple (html right?) game menu. The game itself runs smooth, but its the bear animation I'm concerned about. Is this something to be fixed and known ?

    You are looking at a live game scene running behind the UI, and one that's a recent addition. This has been previously reported, but thank you for providing specs with it.

    I've wanted this too. A lantern that could be hung on posts outside of your house or anywhere, really, would be sooooo helpful. I can't tell you how many times people have been outside my house at night and I can't go out and kill them because I have no way of using a weapon and a torch. There are flares, obviously, but it's really hard to step out of your door, throw a flare, locate the enemy, and shoot them before they, knowing where your door is located, blast your face off.

    Would you guys be willing to add options like building bridges between rocks or structures? We are building in the mountains and would like to connect different buildings together with directly or through a rock wall.

    I think the caves are a really cool idea and should be added to the game. But I have an idea hat I think should be added to the game. Cave ins. For instance if you start mining a tunnel (if there will be a mining system) you will need to build supports or else the mine will cave in on itself and probably you as well. I think this is great idea and should be added to the game if possible. Still love you guys and keep up the good work.

    Honestly, I don't think I would unless there's some way to make them silly rare. And at that point there's no reason to add them until the very end of development (post-development/mods).

    I want to see simple bicycles and more complex variations. Like maybe something like a pedal rickshaw so you have one person pedalling and 1 or 2 people who can shoot. I feel like the noise of an engine should be something unusual and noteworthy if it appears and not just go karts. Like if you are on the island and you hear a plane. It is something from some other world, one which is not an empty rusty ruin.

    Also, left field idea - if there are roads in the generated maps... skates? Like old rusty ones made from junk? Imagine teams of raiders cruising the highways like a mad max roller derby team.

    2. It's good that new features are being put in, but i really can't be arsed to play anymore if nothing is being done about all the hacking. There's so many leaks and bugs in the game that it's just too easy....
    3. You're really taking too long with all of this, like i said, fix the bugs first, then start adding more stuff. The game really is unplayable right now.

    In all: it's no miracle that the player base is dropping rapidly, if you don't fix what needs to be fixed and work on new stuff instead... you won't get people to stick with the game....

    The game needs to be created as they desire it to be created. It is not meant to be fully playable right now. Usually I don't like seeing all the negative comments about "suck it up its Alpha" but you really shouldn't be expecting more and they are even allowing us to continue to enjoy Legacy which is awesome and I am having a blast creating unique mods for it to change the game play to my own desire until the new stuff is ready.

    The dev team isn't going to stop and switch how they do things just because people complain. That's like people coming to your job and telling you how to work even though you know your job better than they do and know the more efficient way of how "they" specifically work or want to get it done.

    i think that something like this would be aweome



    would help for getting around the map and it could be designed to have some storage on the back of it

    It probably should be dropping rapidly and that's okay. It's not a finished game, in fact it's barely developed, as they create something better over the coming months people will play it. As the game changes it may attract new and different players, this is all fine.

    You guys used Daikon Forge for the GUI in the old version of Rust. Being HTML-based, are you guys using an existing middleware for your new GUI, like Coherent UI or Awesomium?

    Garry mentioned before they are using Coherent since Awesomium has no Unity builds for Linux.

    Ah, you're right. They used NGUI for their main gameplay UI stuff and Daikon Forge for the menu, chat, and popup notifications. A few months ago, they were having a go at replacing NGUI with DF.

    Are you guys looking for any feedback/bug reports on the experimental branch at all?

    When running, footsteps are leaving green/pink steps that can only be seen at certain angles (may be intentional)
    With full reflections on, the terrain is covered in small flickering squares (probably not intentional)
    Few little bugs with weapon animations etc.
