I thought it was going to be implemented 2 updates ago but it never was. Why the hell has something this important not been implemented yet? My group's base got griefed overnight. Completely. There's nothing we can do. We are completely shit out of luck. I don't care how long it takes for content updates, but GAME BREAKING issues NEED to be resolved ASAP.

Some asshats broke numerous staircases and then added ceilings. Our base was 14 stories tall and they did this to the first 4 stories which completely blocked us off from the rest of the base.

So, what's the deal with "house ownership"??????

On trello it looks like the last time it was worked on was during the end of January. For now I'd go to a modded server =/ I agree that griefing is bullshit but there will be 100 trolls coming in here any moment screaming "EMERGENT GAMEPLAY" because they have nothing better to do...just an FYI.

No shit it's not out yet; hence my question: "Whatever happened to house ownership"?

I didn't realize it was even that long ago....I stopped playing in February and just came back to it with some friends last weekend. Our base has been griefed 4 days later =(. Yeah, I figured there'd be a few people like you described. I was already told "Welcome to Rust" from the asshat that griefed my base.

They completely reworked the games code not that long ago, thus most of that progress would be pretty useless.

For what it's worth, the Trello leads me to believe that even if it were implemented it would not help you with a base that has been griefed.

The blurb in the Trello makes it sound like "house ownership" is really just a short window of time when you can pick up a building piece that you had just placed... For example, if you put a pillar in the wrong spot you might have 30 seconds (or w/e, I don't know how long) to pick it back up and replace it.

So it wouldn't have helped you like you think it would have.

I was always under the impression that ownership would be that only you(The owner) can build onto the first foundation that was placed.

We need something like : If a set of adjacent foundations stay without doors for a period of 24 hours those foundations become without owner and can have doors built in their doorways.

I would recommend playing on a server with remove tool. I know a lot of people abuse the remove tool but its the best solution to griefing right now.

lol. House Ownership is bullshit. Getting griefed is part of the game and it's the reason why it's so emergent.

You should play on an Oxide server with /remove enabled. I'm pretty sure you can remove any object placed on a foundation you own that way. At least I could when I played on a server with the Oxide mod. It's not a perfect solution but it works.

House ownership wouldn't prevent griefing, just allow for easier and more forgiving construction in case you make a mistake. It doesn't project a magic force field around your property

It's part of the game and that's why it's in the process of becoming part of the game? Not sure that word means what you think it means.
