So I think that the M4 the shotgun 9mm p250 Mp5 and such dont fit the game, this being said I dont think that these high end weapons should be removed. These guns are what people strive for and make combat a hell of a lot more interesting a plain out fun and I made compromises for both the sides that say THEY SHOULD BE REMOVED and THEY SHOULD STAY parties. heres a list of ideas of what the guns should be replaced by. These are ideas not saying 'h this gun is what NEEDS to be in it', im simply giving an idea of what im talking about :) Please post your replies about what you think should be added in. any items you think should be replaced give links to google pics and such :) If you dont agree at all and think that the M4's fit perfectly please explain why.

M4, or how bout an old ak?

shotgun, the top gun in this pic looks pretty old and I think would fit the game nicely

9mm, the colt 1911 seems nice

p250, Heres a pic of an old Ruger, im not really sure on this but bear with me im just giving examples.

Mp5, forgot to put this in the initial thread, but heres a tommy gun, doesn't exacly fit, maybe a greaser gun would look better but its not my decision on whats in the game these are just examples.

Also guys please try and show this to the devs, I made this in hopes that they get something out of it.

PS want to say sorry, im new to this and tried about 100 times to make these links pictures but they kept saying no to me lol, so I had to make them links.
Seriously, do u know nothing about guns? 1911 uses .45 not 9mm big difference in calibers. the p250 is a way way way bigger caliber than the .20 rugar!!! and all these guns don't fit rust, rust is a crafted your self game like the bolt action look!

    Edited:

and your point is? im giving ideas im not saying these need to being the game. I said that. also I asked for people to discuss this topic not tell me that I got my gun info wrong. also I realize its not a p250 thats my whole point that im changing what the modern guns should be. notice how in all of the links I wrote the current gun then the description of my thoughts on the new one... here ill edit it so it says ruger to make you happy.
its the damn caliber sizes your downgrading them way to much its like going from a rpg to a damn rock

    Edited:

He's talking about which one he is replacing. The 9mm and p250 are already in the game. He wants to replace those.
if your replacing them, then replace them with proper calibers! .45 is way more powerful than a 9mm thats the point hes making.

any quality 9mm ammo with 124gr or 147gr JHP has the same stopping power as the .45ACP or the .40 S&W.

People living in shacks scrounging for food and supplies can't make moderately advanced weaponry... whether modern means 2014 or 1920. If this is genuinely supposed to be a low-technology survival game, most of the weapons should be hand-made. That means crude, sometimes inaccurate, very rarely anything close to automatic.

If we want to allow for somewhat modern weapons in the game, they should *not* be craftable... at least not without a complete revamp and dramatic extension of the technology and manufacturing tree. That means all modern weapons will be rare drops. And because a skilled player with an automatic rifle will ruthlessly dominate a server with crude-to-simple weapons, there needs to be something to mitigate that disparity: make precision modern ammunition non-craftable as well and dramatically lower the spawn rate.

If the map spreads out and air drop zones spread out with it, it will be difficult to count on getting them with regularity. That means modern weapons will become exactly what they would be in a post-apocalyptic setting: something rare and valuable that you only bring out to use when you really need it. This would also encourage player-to-player or group-to-group bartering, resources for modern ammo. Instead, it looks like they're going to allow you to continue making modern ammo in a staged process. And instead of making items rare and valuable, Facepunch seems happy with their current item degrade system whereby everything is made of dried paper mache.

I think it would be awesome if they added something similar to the Rock-It Launcher from Fallout 3; you could kill people with random cans of beans, logs, flares, and trash. xD

While I appreciate the sentiment, I don't think effectively going back in time is fitting to the game design. It's my understanding that the Rust world is one of limited resources and capability, not limited knowledge from 150 years ago. Frankly, M4s and the like would be more likely to be found, for instance, than a vintage pre-WWI era firearm.
Excuse me? You're more likely to find a relatively modern M4 than a vintage rifle manufactured in insane numbers? There's a surplus of those old vintage battle rifles that'll likely NEVER dry up.

From a quick search, the numbers estimated for the manufacturing of Nagant rifles is close to 17.5 million! They're dirt cheap, widely available throughout the world and ammunition is cheap and plentiful.

You are more likely to find a Mosin Nagant than an M4 while scavenging.

    Re-think your statement.

Sorry but when you say "9mm, the colt 1911 seems nice" your wording sucks. take sometime away from those guns, and work on better examples so people don't get confused.

and on your other reply about finding mostly ar 15's in america. i can't agree with that. most people in america (the smart ones) don't tell the govt what they own. so expect to see fal's, ak's, and more which are quite common in the south.

I would be interested in knowing how many rust players are gunsmiths? They all seem to think building a firearm is an easy thing and that making one as complex as an ak would be possible even though there are not machine shops or precision tools available. Can any of you rifle a barrel?
