I don't know what's going on, but for the last few days, there's been a ton of hackers on US East Coast 3 (Large), and by hackers, I don't mean just new hackers, I mean hackers that have already been VAC banned. Go on right now and you'll see a bunch of people with VAC bans on their profiles.

Before anyone says anything, yes they were banned for Rust, not just some other game. A lot of these guys only have Rust on their Steam profiles, and on East Coast 3, these hackers are regulars who play ALL the time. I was there when they were banned. They don't change their names, and now they're back in full force.

FacePunch, please do something about this. I thought things were starting to get better, but for whatever reason, VAC banned players are able to get back on.

    Edited:

Okay, as of this exact minute, nevermind. VAC is working again, and literally all the hackers that were on 15 minutes ago are out of the server.

Yeah, if VAC is down, the game can't check VAC status, and so it has to fail back on a default rule.

All users, if their VAC status is not known recently enough to be trusted, are:

Innocent of VAC infractions and permitted to play, or

BANNED and subject to immediate disconnection from the game, which means all VAC-secured game servers following this default rule are now empty.

Which is the sane option to pick if you aren't, say, EA?

There's already an ongoing thread with lots of information over in the Rust Exploits section of the Rust forums. Would be way more helpful to compile more information in to one thread.
