My favorite server's population has died out from many people taking a break until there is an update worth coming back for, so the last few days I have spent trying to invent some personal ways to have fun in nontraditional ways. This has largely meant jumping on high population servers and seeing what I could accomplish in a short time as a lone wolf.

During one such escapade, I had just made a run through large rad only to find it already looted when I spotted a naked running out. He stopped for a second, just long enough for me to catch up and hit him with my rock. Rather than starting a rock fight, he turned and ran towards the road. I usually assume runners have something on them they don't want to lose, so the chase was on.

He led me across the road and over rocks, away from large rad, never stopping long enough for me to fully catch up to swing at him, but I was making up ground from guessing his path and being more direct. He eventually headed towards a small house with a metal door, and I was right on his tail. He opened the door and I managed to make it inside behind him before he closed it. He must have been bleeding on the way, because he was dead after one hit with my rock.

At this point I checked the boxes inside, found a stone hatchet, and started hatcheting his sleeping bag. He quickly respawned, but a few whacks from the hatchet dispatched him a second time.

I then took a look through all the various boxes, which included a large storage and several regular storage boxes. In one I found another large storage box, and I quickly placed it right in front of the lone door to the house. I then proceeded to start grabbing everything from the boxes, consolidating stacks as I went to maximize what I could hold.

A while later, I heard someone walking up, and the door opened. The owner had returned, but the large storage blocked his way and he started hitting it. I equipped a found gun but before I could shoot, he quickly closed the door again.

At this point, over chat, I said, "Don't open the door anymore, and I won't do anything bad." The door then opened, and I shot him once with a shotty as he tried to hit the box again. The door quickly closed.

"What did I just say?" I asked over chat. He responded something to the effect of, "You are either taking all my stuff or dying in there, what other options are there?"

"Open the door again, and I will start destroying boxes and dropping things on the ground." I believe his response was "OoOo".

For the next 5 minutes or so, I continued my work and the door never opened. Once I was done, I started chopping the box down and told him to open the door. He did, and started hitting the box as well. The box was quickly destroyed, and he stood there, uncertain what to do next. I walked out, he walked in and closed the door, and over voice chat I sad "Enjoy".

Shortly after, over chat he said "You didn't take anything?"

I hadn't. During those few minutes that I told him to stay out, I had consolidated stacks and cleaned up -- guns and ammo, ores, raw materials, etc., all sorted into the various boxes. While I was in the house, I dropped clues like 'Wow, what a mess' and 'how do you live like this with all your stuff disorganized.'

After spending the previous 5-10 minutes assuming all his hard work was being demolished while a raider had free reign over his house (one he had let right in the front door), he was now pleasantly surprised to find that his stuff was still there and said as much over chat.

I ran off, stopping briefly to say over chat "Free house cleanings, I come to you, no charge ... 1 satisfied customer to date".
