Hi. I was looking in the betas section of the Rust properties and I found some neat things I didn't notice before.

"Dev Branch" I am assuming that this is just for testing. I didn't bother to check this one.
"Experimental branch. GET AWAY!" This piqued my interest. I gave it a try, and when joining a server, the menus spaz out and the text gets scrambled. When you spawn, the chat is different, you don't have a rock, and your inventory is unusable. But, it's the new fancy inventory, so give that a look.
"Public Staging Branch" just seems to have very minor tweaks. A couple more options available in the CFG but the water just seems to be a blue void... I got a considerable FPS boost on this one, so give it a look.

Yeah, the alternate build channels have been there for a while. Dev and experimental branches are unstable builds, but they're ahead of the game on certain things.

At times, garry has put a feature in the dev branch to have people test it before it gets added to the main release of Rust (i.e. what you get if you've never changed this setting at all). When the new sky system was just being tested out, I believe that's how you could test it out for the first time, switching to the dev branch.

If you switch to one of these alternate branches and Rust works, but then it stops working another time, your simplest bet is to switch back to the regular branch to regain stability.
