So I have been playing battlefield 4 lately, and I was thinking. What if we could destroy buildings and have them fall over like the skyscraper in siege of shanghai? I'm not quite sure how this will be implemented, like will people be able to destroy other people's houses and have the entire thing fall over, or will it only happen after a certain point of decay. I'm not sure, but I think this will be something very cool to implement.

The performance complications of doing custom level destruction is huge. Battlefields destruction is of limited quantity (whilst that quantity is somewhat large) it is still limited to the number of buildings in the map. The skyscraper falling down is scripted and not run by a physics engine which is what rust would require on custom buildings. Also, whilst it looks pretty, it adds nothing to gameplay and would take too much performance away to be justified. It won't happen.

The concept itself is pretty cool.

But it would suck big time if someone could bring your whole god damn tower with a few C4 charges. :)
