A four pack with a little discount would be nice as Rust is a multiplayer game and I could gift some of my friends so we could play together.

sry what is a four pack ?
It's 4 copies of game in one purchase so you could gift your friends, etc.
that would be great, but for real i think hacker gonna use this and the game only costs 10€ in the internet as a gift ;) cheap as hell
Don't lie you've got no friends
We did consider this, but we're worried that it will look like a money grab.
Server populations have been dying recently, less people are getting on. Having some sort of sale might not be a bad idea to bring more people in.
Not necessarily. Starforge never had n>1-packs, and calling that alpha a money grab is an understatement!!!
Money grab theory is valid for bad games. Not for Rust (based on reviews). :)
Nah. It's actually a good offer. Maybe do a 4 pack with half off? Like buy 2 get 2 free? People would eat that shit up like hot cakes.
I totally agree. I'm getting desperate for a content update because it's so difficult to populate servers at the moment. Putting this up might be a good alternative until the next 'big update' comes.
That's like too much. I mean I would want it but I guess 2 free wouldn't be possible :P
garry i would pay 50€ 4 that game XD a lots of AA titles give less playfun than rust.
also costs rust on keystore only 10€ so i think 14$ - never played such a good game for that price
It's been done before with other games with similar 4 packs.
$60 for 3 sounds like a fair price in my oppinion
$60 for a 4 pack*
That's kind of the total opposite of how we feel. We don't mind that server populations are dropping. We don't mind that player counts are dropping. The last thing we want to to is encourage people to take part in the alpha with a sale or any other kind of marketing/promotion.
We're in early development. We need to develop the game. That's what will increase (and keep) player participation.
Well yeah, having a sale in alpha stage is kinda desperation. But 4 pack is not a sale, it's a choice for someone who wants to buy more and gets a reason to do it (discount).
Hehe, the giant sale must've slapped you guys in the neck.
Do whatever you feel like, you are the developers.
I hope you guys don't listen to all this "CONTENT UPDATE NAO!" bullshit, the majority is crying about. Don't let it get the best off you, take your time.
I sound like I know shit about developing but I'm just drunk. All I want to say is: Keep doing a good job and this game will be a blast. Everybody had at least 100h of fun and it's not even slightly finished. That alone means a lot, I think.
Player pops fluctuate in any game. That's inevitable. Believe it or not there are people who actually play more than one single game all the time. Not to mention Rust came out in December when many people were on break/vacation. Of course the pop has decreased. Rust is already very reasonably priced as it is, so much so that banned players willingly purchase new accounts just so they can keep playing with their "undetectable" (lol) hacks.
I think a four pack would be nice, its not exactly a sale and would be good for people who want to play with friends.
You said also lower the game price, 18.99 is too much for a game thats in alpha. And instead of releasing the game you guys should have started a kickstarter project.
I'm not an accountant and I don't work at Facepunch but I'm gonna venture just an insane guess that they're doing pretty well with their current business model.
DayZ is alpha? That is $30.
We don't want to encourage people to buy the game by being cheap. We want people to help us test and develop the game. The alpha exists as a way for people to buy into the development.. instead of teasing people with screenshots and trailers for 2 years.
Kickstarter is a different thing. The game doesn't need funding, we can already afford to develop the game we want to make. I find it to be quite insulting when established, well financed companies use kickstarter.
Look at webshops you get the code for 14$ or less
You can get scammed for less, too!
Only buying keys and never get scammed. Why should i pay more when its cheaper ? They buy a huge amount of games so they can resell cheaper.
also buying gametimecards via emsil for years now...
