You don't get VAC banned for glitches(maybe just on one server if the admin chooses so) . The only way you are going to get VAC banned is by cheating . You used lighthack , maybe this time u will be legit ;) have fun

You are saying that you banned because you changed gamma with "thaat" program.Then you are saying this:
Nice try Chico,you just confessed that you used a software to change your game files which of course will be resulted as VAC ban.
Funny thing is,you have a computer to run Rust and you probably have decent GPU(graphics card) as far as i know Intel,AMD and Nvidia have their own control panels and you can simply change the gamma directly from there.
Another funny thing is,you should stay away from glitches instead of trying to using them with 3rd part programs.
So people like you will come with that reason another day:"I got banned while running the Windows Media Player from the background ! I want refund now ! I'm not a cheater,i used a glitch !"

I also admitted already that i modified my files to "remove walls" so i could place sleeping bag inside. Some people need to learn how to read - I linked the bug, which explains to you how you modify the files. It doesnt require no programs.

Actually you brought up your ban, then tried to tapdance your way around it about how you were just trying to fix your gamma. Now you say you were just abusing a wall removal exploit. At least come up with an original excuse and stick with it. If you did indeed make a payment to Steam but received no game as you claim then why would you think Facepunch would be able to help or refund you? You bought the game from Steam, as you say. That's like if I went to a drive-thru, paid for a cheeseburger, got home and realized they didn't put in the bag and then went to the ranch to complain about not getting my burger.

I made this thread asking if this happend to anyone else,abecause this happend on same day as rust had major downtimes.
Also,i mentioned my ban because of jonny's post:

And since you keep on wanna talk about my ban,let me tell you one last thing: I used GammSutra for 1 day,got banned,so i thought it ban was cause of that.Yesterday i read thread on exploit section of this forum,where some people said you get ban for modifying files/using this same glitch i used. You're jumping to assumptions way too fast. Just because he's played Rust previously doesn't mean he's been using a pirated copy. He has the right to get angry over a false accusation.

Just listen: You are not going to find help from the people here. Do not bother trying to defend yourself. If you need help, do not post on these forums. Think of it, man. It somehow went from you asking for help because you bought Rust and did not get a copy—to you having to "defend yourself" against the ever-present witch hunt for hackers.

He was already told since page 1 that only Steam support can help him with purchase issues. There's no witch haunt for hackers here either. He admitted himself that he was VAC banned.
According to miqro he was banned for using a multi-hack.
I mean he was banned for modifying the game files and using wall exploits.
Wait...no he wasn't using a multi-hack after all. He got banned for using a program that doesn't modify the game's files.
Um...yep. So he says he was using a multihack but then says he wasn't and was only using an external monitor application and then he says he was modifying game files to remove the walls...so he could put a sleeping bag down.
Wasn't this posted a week ago? Surely Steam would have responded by now if he had purchased the game from Steam. The couple times I had payment issues in the past with Steam I received responses and resolution quite promptly. Now, if he bought a Rust key from a third party that's an entirely different matter and nothing Steam can do to help you there.

Some fantastic people on these forums. Coming from an outsider, this is just silly.
You guys are getting mad at him for cheating, which he openly admits to doing. So you get mad at him harder, for what? Boredom, I'm assuming? Go play the damn game.
Also, I love that Johnny hasn't made a peep since the proof.

This thread really should be closed. I read the entire thread and he clearly admitted to cheating and is okay with getting banned. The thread wasn't even about getting banned and his problem was solved by Valve.
To the OP...just ignore this thread man. Many of these people have their heads up their asses. I hate when people cheat but you sound like you learned your lesson. Good for you. Enjoy your second copy of the game.

He started the thread to get advice about a technical error with a Steam purchase...and btw, he has already posted the unnecessary proof of purchase before you even started posting. Stahhhhhhhhhhp. That reply you made about people learning to read.....go put it in to practice. Take the OP's advice and actually READ this thread before you reply again. I mean seriously, you searched the entire thread for the "evidence" you needed to prove something that everyone already knew and the OP admitted. How on Earth did you miss the giant embedded picture he posted of Steam support's response?

pretty much all speculation. Truth is you have no clue what they actually banned you for specifically(everyone knows they don't tell you the reason), so it could have been all or none of those things, but hey at least your admitting your mistake.
- side note - nvidia and ati cards come with software to easily alter gamma settings.
