Telling him to use gamma at night and then telling him not to cheat is funny.
Gamma whoring is cheating; maybe not detectable, but it's still cheating.
Queue the "but but monitors have different settings" retort. But intentionally turning gamma up 100% is cheating whichever way you try to cut it.

Btw, the so-called "light hack" is in fact a multi-hack containing many other cheat functions such as ESP and so on but the popular excuse seems to be oh, I was just using the "gamma" cheat. Unfortunately, for said hackers there is no one at Steam or Facepunch dumb enough to bother listening to their bullshit. In fact there is pretty much just plain no one to bother listening to their excuses at all...except the forums where inevitably they will just be made fun of.

If you think gamma changing (in your gfx driver panel) is cheating you might want to call cheater on everybody who has a better ping, faster rig (FPS), etc. Same goes for the people who change their key mapping in the cfg. Or people who turn off grass.
Makes no sense. If the devs want to have 1 kind of darkness for all people they would have to work with a shader to keep the same darkness on all machines the same.

Because you're totally supposed to be able to fiddle with graphic settings and the developers totally did not overlook that.

You seemed to have missed the fact that these "Light Hacks" are in fact multi-hacks whose common features also include speedhacks, noclips, ESP and possibly aimbot/norecoil as well.
The actual light part of these multi-hacks doesn't "correct" the gamma. They don't just adjust it a "tad." They literally make it full daylight during the night.
Don't fall for the sob story. Garry has punked out these very same players before who claimed they were just using an innocent "gamma" fix and surprise, surprise they actually had was full player/item/etc. ESP as well as other hacks.
The term "light hack" is aort of a misnomer. It's actually a multi-hack.

Also i dont know if we are talking about the same thing. If you fiddle a bit with your gamma, everything is still dark, its just light enough so you can make out the difference between a house and the mountain.
